Fury vs Haye

If Fury comes through tonight it doesn't seem such a long way off. Fury and Haye would make a great fight and between them they are the best salesmen in the business!

They could both earn a fortune and I'm sure one of the Klits would have to fight the winner.

IMO it is an easy pay day for Haye as well. I think this could happen later in the year!

Assuming they both win their next fights, why would it not happen?

There would be some build up, the press conferences would be priceless! Haye by massive KO should it ever happen. :box:

I think after the Cunningham fight Tyson will have his next few fights in Europe as it seems his Uncle/trainer Peter cannot get a Visa.

Difficult to see Tyson and Hughie fighting there without Peter in the corner hope it doesn't effect Tysons performance tonight.

It would be huge on a selling and promotional point but I feel it may be the wrong move for Tyson fury if it were to happen. Maybe the winner of Wilder v Harrison or maybe adamek would be a good challenge for Fury

Would absolutely love it; I would pay a lot of money for a ticket to that one, but sadly I can't see it, neither really stand to gain much (well, Tyson perhaps) from a win but stand to lose a LOT with defeat.

Haye would stop him. But I can't see this fight happening this year (if it ever does).

I see this looks more likely now....

I wouldn't say it looks more likely, there's a lot of obstacles to overcome to get this one made.

if the money is right, would be a great fight for Fury to take - win and he's elite level and will get the respect of the public (and some huge paydays), lose and he can come again, having lost to an elite level boxer - doesn't seem to have done Chisora any harm.

I'd say Chisora's stock went up when he went twelve with Vitali and he didn't get ktfo but it's dipped after getting mullered buy Hay like Fury would.

But, if handled properly Chrisora's stock could be right back up in a couple of fights, same as Fury's if he got sparked out by Haye. The public perception of Haye, rightly or wrongly, is that he is an absolute killer in the ring, most of that public will have never seen the Wlad fight, the 10 million odd that watched him on that Jungle crap that is.

by the sounds of it hayemaker are trying to make Haye v Fury fight.

It does serve a purpose for haye not only in the rankings but if he beats fury the "would he have beated cunningham at cruiser weight" talk would be muted.

Booth said: “David against Fury is the most natural heavyweight fight out there.

"It is the most logical high-profile fight in Great Britain, if not the world, right now.

“Both boxers are great entertainers. Fury is doing a great job inside and outside the ring and David is a former two-weight world champion.

"His celebrity status has never been higher and importantly both have a top-10 world ranking.

“It would be a huge event anywhere in the country. It wouldn’t matter if it was London or at a Manchester football stadium —it would be massive.

“I am waiting to make contact with Fury’s promoter to see if the interest expressed in some of his comments are genuine or just hot air from a young fighter.”

Funny how at the Chrisora v Vitali post fight press conference it all seemed to start by Haye laughing at the fact Chisora lost to Tyson Fury, and now he is a genuine step towards a world title fight for Haye.

At the time fury was a bit of a joke, fat and big mouthed. Now he is taking is far more seriously

Yeah i agree, lets not beat about the bush haye wins this hands down and a yeah ago this would have been a joke of a fight but Fury has earned his patch now. He put away cunningham off the back of completely outboxing Johnson, in britain its the biggest fight going especially if they both fit in another fight each in the mean time. Now povetkin looks to be fighting wlad i dont have a problem with have fighting Fury - i would have liked him to fight someone like Pulev before hand but i doubt we will get that lucky.

You talk as if the public are fools to think Haye is a big punching fighter - although I know he stank the place out, and can't defend that, in terms of Haye's career that performance against Wlad was the anomaly. Generally speaking - and I know everyone will say 'at CW' - he has always been a big hitting aggressive fighter. In his fair share of wars, matched toughly early in his career and not afraid to get stuck into a fight. OK against Valuev it made sense to box and move and against Wlad he sucked, but apart from that the general perception of Haye as being a KO artist is nailed on right. Chisora for all his faults has a rock solid chin and proved Haye's power. Always felt it was harsh to just catergorise Haye as this cautious back foot dodger off one fight but there it is, you seem to think the public are wrong to think he is aggressive. I would still, maybe deludedly, fancy Haye to throw caution to the wind and go for a KO if he managed to wangle another Klitschko fight.

No, I agree with you, I said "the public perception of Haye, rightly or wrongly, is that he is an absolute killer" - down to some highlights they will have seen on talk shows, and the fact 10,000,000 watched him in the jungle. It didn't have anything to do with my opinion on Haye's abilities, I meant the public perception and the fact that losing to a boxer who has such a big 'non-boxing' fan base won't mean the end for Fury by a long shot.

Haye's always been an excellent puncher and he's scored great knockouts, but since he's fought at EBU level in which fights was he generally aggressive? Not enough for me to agree that he's generally always been an aggressive fighter.

Even in several of his notable stoppage wins (e.g. Enzo, Mormeck, Gurov, Harrison) he boxed circumspectly until hurting and/or finishing his opponents, and I wouldn't say he was generally aggressive against Klitschko, Valuev, Abdoul, Fragomeni, Ruiz, or Chisora, though in some of these fights (e.g Ruiz and Chisora) he wasn't overly cautious or economical.

i think he likes to use his handspeed and power to connect on people coming forward making mistakes. rather than wear himself out chasing them down, however in the chisora fight he did his fair share of going forward. If he ever fights wlad again he is going to have to forget that tactic and go out looking for him with a high punch output.

Fury is not at Haye's level right now.

I think Haye would stop Fury late - mid rounds, after being a bit cautious initially.
