If you use Firefox and download Adblock Plus the ads don't appear.

Why not click on the odd one, generate boxrec some revenue ?

As a separate thing, Adsense can kick you from their program for having text-only adverts interspersed within posts themselves. As long as they are image banners you (should) be ok.

I don't see them due to having an ad blocker. Worth doing. But I also agree with people saying clcick them, Boxrec is a great resourse provided for free and is one of the few places on the net where I'd click an advert just to help them out (if I could see them )

It appeared I think its annoying I realise like I said in my post things need to be paid for.
Its still there its still annoying.
I didn't pay when it wasn't there I don't pay when it is.
You quite frankly have bought into the mentality that we should just put up and shut up when things change and we have an opinion on it.
The position is the issue and the lack of the X.

Well done on denying revenue to a site you use and enjoy.

Also, I do agree that ads shouldn't be intrusive and ruin the browsing experience. There is a happy medium.

No, you're absolutely entitled to your opinion - you go for it, that's what the forum is for.

My opinion (which I'm also allowed to express) is that you pay for absolutely nothing and like most hardcore boxing fans, will probably use the site extensively for free. It's my view that it's mean spirited to complain when the people who work hard to offer you an invaluable service try and understandably generate a bit of revenue.

What a nice mild mannered exchange this has been.
If it could be moved to the top or the side or time out or like I said a X then I think that would be better.I enjoy using the forum and like you say people work hard to make it work.I do not begrudge them a penny of revenue just not keen on how they have done it this time.It did coincide with the mobile version of the site so may have been a trade off .

To be fair boxrec must be making money anyway? Even before these ads came into play I mean as otherwise how was it being sustained? Ps regarding the actual topic at hand, im not really fussed! Its not like they take up half the page or something.
