I don't think anyone watched it! Seriously, everyone watched Fury. I flicked a couple of times to Rose and Nathan but Fury was the main event.

I thought in went into the figher thinking it was going to be comfortable. Unfortunately he thought he was gonna walk over the kid but he came to fight. He won comfrotably on fights and other than Bellew fight that was a tough fight cause he won every round in my opinion it was not clear cut as he hoped.

He will need to fight Brahmer and then he should be looking at Hopkins or a unifaction bout as he has been dissapointing and you can see why Burns left frank cant you

I watched it live, Nathan was on after Fury. It was a good performance where he set a very busy work rate. His opponent fought to the very end though and was throwing a dangerous right hand all night.
Criticisms of Cleverley is that he seems to sacrifice power for speed at times choosing to overcome with volume . That it how it seems viewing it anyway, there were a couple of hard looking ones that stood out, to the body in particular. He also has that confidence in his chin, throwing caution to the wind until someone cracks it and it's all over.

Who is this Nathan Cleverly you speak of?

i seen an interview where clev said "ive made 6 defenses now and i think its time i step up in class to elite level" now call me old fashion but hes a world champion shouldn't he be at elite level. Didn't sound very confident in his own ability to me. His fights are getting so predictable 12 rounds of tippy tappy shots winning on points boring as f"£k

I agree with Horse . Problem Cleverly will have is he isn't close to being elite.

Cleverly needs to change his training/trainer. I understand it's his dad but c'mon. He needs to plant his feet and follow through. As a champions, he needs to take out these mandatory, poor qulality opponants

With regards to this fight, read an article the next day that he'd won easily, that was enough to tell me it probably wasn't worth watching!!

Wow, these posts seem a little harsh, Nathan boxed very well on Saturday against his mandatory, he was a game opponent who kept coming all night, the elite fights in his division haven't come yet as Nathan himself isn't a big enough name to them, I think his ready for anyone in the world next !

Mandatory and poor... they're all the same

It was a pretty tedious fight, well, at least the last 4 rounds of it that I watched.

Would prefer Juergen Brahmer who is apparently his other mandatory.

You see the story on BBC saying Freddie Roach still interested, and Lockett saying would be a great move.

Then Warren dismisses it out of hand....."Roach did nothing to improve Khan" essentially the gist.

On paper Clev should be in wars - decent chin, fit as a fiddle, throws high volume punches.

On canvas, he is almost always in a snooze fest (fight v Bomber excluded but a lot of that was about the back story and the niggle etc).

He is in danger of treading so much water he may never make it to the deep-end to see if he sinks or swims.

Clev's fans have had a bit of a torrid time of cancelled shows, then fighting abroad on undercards and stuff.

They deserve a show closer to home or at least more dates.

Myself i think Clevs biggest prob is a lack of power , he can manage with the lower level guys by keeping them at bay on punch volume etc but the better guys wont be discouraged , he hasnt got the pop to keep them off him in my view , he will eventually have guys walking him down .

I have been to a lot of Clev's fights he lacks power but makes up for it with speed and his stamina. He needs a step up in class if only he was with matchroom.

Why so he can fight a highly ranked South American? Cleverly is better off with Warren.

Hearn seems to mostly either feed bums to his fighters or feed his fighters to top world champions like they are bums.

Either way we don't get many 50-50 type fights. Hearn has really helped to make British boxing more boring over the last year or so.
