He could have taken an easier fight to get a ranking

in my mind, he can easily dispose these and should have gone this way

None of those equals remotely the payday or the level of US exposure that Wilder does. If rabbit in the headlights Audley emerges, at least he gets a decent payday. If he wins, suddenly everyone in America remembers who he is and takes him seriously. The others.....who is De Mori, outside Australia? Richard Towers isn't considered a good prospect for even the British title, etc etc.

i assumed he could have gone down the chris arreola route of fighting tomato cans and get a no1 ranking

I can't see Audley would want to be out often enough to go that route. 1 or 2 fights against the right names and he could be in with Povetkin, and the fact he is already mentioning the WBA in preference to other titles would possibly say this is something that has already been discussed with Povetkins team.
He is still one of the biggest cross-over names in boxing, an Olympic Gold medalist, and more importantly a damn fine salesman, so if he got past Wilder a Povetkin fight could do well.

Povetkin is not the type of fighter that generally terrifies him, either. Redemption?

Audley is getting Knocked out, sorry to say but I will be sat at home farting, eating a kebab and watching Audley being destroyed after 2 rounds.

I hope he wins I genuinely do but it won't happen.

I think Audley has a decent chance. Price and Haye banged him out because not only do they hit hard but they are accurate. Deonty might just be messy for long enough to let Audley get a left hand off.

1 tings for sure, it's not going to last very long. If it was a 50/50 i'd probably pick Wilder but i;m a sucker for an underdog, gonna stick a few quid on Audley to win by KO. Let's do it Harrison, RE-DEMP-SHON

I think Wilder is a tougher mark for Audley than Povetkin. The Russian looks a really winnable fight for Haudley. I hope he somehow gets there!

doubt it, Povetkin has a fight lined up and signed up for Wlad afterwards - meaning Povetkin & Wlad are both tied up until the winter at least & Vitali im sure won't fight again.

The HW scene will need to carry on with that in mind, Haye vs Fury sounds good, Price vs Tony Thompson is a huge fight for Price, if he gets KO'd again im not sure where that leaves him. Chisora looked woeful last week, i'm not sure where his career is goign either.

so audley can fight vacant belt, but will need to beat few others to get a top 3 ranking.

i think beathing a few fringe contender woul dhave been enough to get him a title shot, they way wach, charr, pianeta, mormeck did.

I don't think the option of beating a few fringe contenders was very viable for Audley as he has no promotional company behind him. His only hope is a big win or two as an 'opponent', in a similar manner to Thompson KOing Price.

This will be his big issue if he somehow beats Wilder - it will be very hard for him to build any momentum with no power-broker backing him (although Matchroom may go with him if he pulls it off).

I reckon if Audley somehow does the business on Saturday his most likely next fight is a rematch with Wilder in the States.

I would think if Audley does the business on Saturday, Eddie Hearn, Matchroom, and the might of Sky will get behind him for another crack at a title. They seem to have a good relationship and the Sky money would make it a worthwhile risk for whoever is WBA champion at that point, or the WBA could just create a new belt and upgrade Povetkin to mini-super champion.

at face to face audley was nervous. you could see him "gulp" a couple of times.

Also, Harrison looks bigger than Wilder in the face to face. Wilder looks actually to be 6'5''.
