Valdez...hard to imagine somebody that could stop the Iron-Jawed Bennie Briscoe doesn't stop Martinez.

Agreed. He also was a skilled boxer.

Martinez is probably going to get underrated for a while. He was an excellent fighter. But I agree that Valdez takes him.

Martinez's stock has significantly went down following his recent loss to Miguel Cotto. Let's hope that the future is kinder to him. He did a great service to boxing during his Middleweight reign, whilst others have squeezed every penny from the fans (Mayweather), Martinez was like the quiet, unassuming champion who fought some very good fighter's of his time.
I have a lot of respect for the man, we can't forget that he was a pretty dominant Middleweight Champ and was the clear Number One Man for a time. Though, I do think that his best days are behind him and he should consider calling it a day.
