Lads I'm going to be in Dublin, Derry and then Belfast over the course of next week. Accomodation and all that is sorted, I'm just looking for the names of some good pubs to go to for dinner and music. I've a fair idea of what I'm going to do with my days but any suggestions would be welcome.

The Brazen Head on Bridge Street in Dublin is a good trad pub with nice food. Music on every night.

Most of the pubs down around Temple Bar will offer you something along those lines too. O'Reillys is very good but pricey for food.

Can't offer any advice on Belfast or Derry.

Swerve the whole country. It's overpriced and overrated (like many of it's boxers)

Belfast - Crown, Duke of York, Filthy McNastys (Not a strip club)

Call the Crown Bar in Belfast and reserve one of the booths in the main bar for pub lunch. If you are going with the mrs and want to eat well, try one of the pre-theatre menus in Belfast, I recommend all of these: Beatrice Kennedys, Deanes (Howard Street), Tedfords and The Potted Hen. Go to the Cathedral Quarter in Belfast, great pubs i.e. Duke of York, The Spaniard, John Hewitt.

Me and my sister, it is. I don't drink so I'm hoping it won't be too dear for me.

All the bars that I mentioned do bar menus and I'd say they are decent, the one that I tried is The Crown and it was good, reasonably priced and cool to book one of the booths. Cosmo in Victoria Square is excellent, very cheap, especially for lunch, but you need to book in advance. The Europa does a good Jazz session on a Friday afternoon, which is good, drinks are a bit more expensive but its well worth it.

Andy lee, carl frampton and Katy Taylor are far from overrated, I'd agree it's expensive though

The Porterhouse in Dublin is excellent

Thinking about a trip to Ireland in the summer, but depends on other things out of my control, should know more by the end of the week, but if I do go I will probably be moving around, so if anyone knows any good places to visit would be greatly appreciated.

I had a few cans in the Bunch of Grapes in Belfast a couple of years back, bit lively in there!

On the Sunday after the Frampton fight, just strolled into the Crown and most of the booths were free, so assume booking is only necessary on the busy nights.

Really liked Belfast. Lots of decent little pubs I found, just wandering around.

I've had some of my favourite nights in Belfast, went there for my 30th too

We used to have an office on Talbot street and I've been out in the Cathedral quarter a few times, some decent places to eat and drink.

Doesn't usually make a difference in the Republic as it's not such a sensitive topic there.

Does usually make a difference in the Republic as it's not such a sensitive topic there.

Fair do's mate, i love the place personally, stayed at the City West hotel and i loved every minute

He's at a good club. I remember him from his Galway days, decent player.

He's not long been back on the Emerald Isle mate. He was with us in Sheffield, and playing with Sheffield United but didn't quite break through.
