What number is Glen Foot?

Thats a hell of a jump for Martin Murray considering he lost !
I personally think he did enough and it was a fantastic effort either way, I just think a jump to around 10th would of been good enough !

Why is Gavin Rees so far down the pecking order after 1 loss to an elite future star of the sport?

Harsh on Cleverly that Murray overtakes him by losing when he won himself

Personally I think this is the best list in a long time. In my opinion Murray's defeat (which many websites had Murray winning) against a top 5 pfp boxer and the way he fought, plus the draw with Sturm eclipses any of Cleverley's wins - Murat and Bellew being the standouts.

Fury's elevation is also warranted after his good win over Cunningham. Also pleased to see Lee selby rise a couple of places too.

Good list.

Cleverly should be above kahn and fury. Kahn looked
awful against diaz and holds no title. Fury is a very limited fighter who has loads of heart. Cleverly a much better athlete and boxer

Thanks for the list.

However, in my opinion it should be a snap shot of how fighters stack up this month - and whilst sure, losses and former glories should play a small part in it, you shouldn't let that influence how they look right this moment in time "in May".

For me it's this:-

1. Who has someone fought
2. How they looked , even if a close defeat

Not

1. Won a vacant world title, or is undefeated
2. Boxed nobody remotely top 50
3. Was victorious but looked terrible (tedious 12 rounds over a shot fighter / nobody, or hung on for life)

In closing, a losing Brit who is fighting the elite and giving them hell, should always rank higher than someone who is handpicking / fighting unheralded nobodies.

Woah Horse! Murray lost. I don't care if it was against the best in the division but a 15 place jump is way too big. What if he had of won - would he be No. 1? If that's the case then Khan should drop by a number of places considering he was in a world of trouble against a mediocre fighter but just scrapped the win.

If he got the decision he would have a good case for being British No. 1 and top 10 P4P in the world.

10th place would have him below Brook who has done nothing as impressive as either controversially losing a very close fight with Martinez or drawing with Sturm. Murray has proven himself more than Cleverly or Fury and is on better form than Khan.

He hasn't been beating the best opposition over the last few years. I don't think he deserves to be in the top 20 at the moment.

Cleverly's opposition has been awful since Bellew. He will be falling down the list fairly steadily now unless he beats someone good.

Look who Murray was fighting and how he did (IMO he won by one point). Look who Cleverley was fighting and has been fighting recently. His best win is against Bellew and Bellew isn't quite elite level.

In the past I didn't consider him eligible, but most people thought he should be allowed in so I decided to accept the majority opinion.
