Great fight that one.
Should be a cracker; you'd have to lean towards Gavin but if Anthony can perform like he has against Derry then it's a 50/50 call.
Kudos to Anthony for taking this on too after two wars with Mathews either side of a real tough night against Kieran Farrell.

As the original poster said, Crolla deserves a lot of respect for taking this. Not many fighters at that stage of their career would put themselves into fights like this back to back.
Rees will probably break him down, looking forward to this one!

Another great lightweight fight. I see Rees just walking him down and getting to Tony late on.

My sentiments exactly, will be great fight though, kudos to both men for taking it,both fighters have proven throughout their careers they dont take easy/uncompetitive fights

I think million dollar might nick it on points.
He is well in the mix at lightweight and Rees best days are behind hm.
I fancy the upset Anthony will relish the well earned challenge.

How can you state Rees's best days are behind him? Because he lost to Broner? That's harsh. Not long ago he was busting up Derry and winning the European title, convincingly, on the road.

No chance. Crolla not on the same level as Rees.

He is a former world and european champion will he be again not likely so his best days are behind him.....No
Not judging him on Broner at all mate your right that would be harsh. i like Rees he is a credit to boxing and is hard as nails .
I just think Crolla is gonna rise to the challenge he has paid his dues.
Yes its a step up not denying that but he could do it .IMO

Rees is a level above correct but you go up in levels by beating people your not supposed too.
On his recent outings to rightoff Crolla before the first bell is not giving him the credit he has earned .He will come to win as always .It will take a huge effort for him to beat Rees but he is capable off it .IMO

I'm glad its not Matthews next for Crolla, but I wish he would consider fighting at Super Feather.
Got to make dough yes, but thats two Gallagher fighters who seems to campaign at a weight higher than their optimum. Both Crolla and Paul Smith have said time and time again they are natural super feather (Crolla) and Middleweight (Smith)..... why not go there then and really see how far their talents can take them.... I still think both could be EBU title holders at the lower weight (at least), so why not take a few weeks out to make the weight and then go for a British title fight there.
Its not doing their future career and health any good taking shots from bigger men. However, in this case he has a small Lightweight in the opposite corner.

agree on Crolla but Smith would be up against it at middleweight with Barker, Murray, Saunders, Lee all possible opponents at European level

Always wanted to see Smith vs Barker... although yes, Barker is the favourite - just a fight I've always thought would be a good one to watch style wise.
I'm just a bit fed up when a fighter says "well I'm not a natural such a weight, I'll move down" - and then the next fight is at the same weight and we hear the same excuses when a defeat happens. I still think Bradley Pryce could be knocking on the door at least for a title at Welter (domestic title).
I would think Barker might move up if he loses to Chavez (he has ranking at Super Middle also), Murray, like Macklin, I think is now beyond EBU level and should be competing against world contenders. Saunders (isn't he moving up?). Lee vs Smith is a decent little fight, judging by Lee's last performance no forgone conclusion.

Rees too fast for Crolla. Rees was landing quite frequently on Broner.... the difference is the punches on Crolla won't bounce off like they did on Broner. Not an easy fight for Rees, but I'd imagine he stops him in the last half of the fight.

I thought Crolla was going back down to SFW
