Another good match Rov. Hasegawa by decision. Austin punched harder but IMO Hasegawa was a master at 118 (until Montiel), fought better comp and this would be in Japan, so I see it 116-112. Always a chance for an Austin KO, but I would bet on Hasegawa.

What if it weren't in Japan? There was talk of a Hasegawa/Valero doubleheader in Texas. It never materialized, but Hozumi was willing to come here, apparently, and King certainly had the means to pay him well.
I think I'd take Austin.
Their comp at bantam was kind of similar. I say that because the Sahaprom Hasegawa fought was past prime; I don't think Hasegawa (or Austin) would've beaten a prime Sahaprom. I think Vargas and Botile stack up nicely with Vetyeka and that version of Sahaprom, who was stopped by Malinga in his next fight. I think Austin would Montiel Hasegawa at some point.
