Who can actually test Mayweather.....

So Floyd says he's going to be more active with this Showtime deal (although I'm not convinced), but who can he actually fight that has a realistic chance of winning?

I'm really struggling here. Pacquiao would still be at the top of my list. He beat Bradley and was looking the best he's looked against Marquez before rushing in and getting caught. But even he would be up against it and could quite easily be shut out like the rest.

Apart from him I just don't see anyone with the right blend of skills, style and mindset to do any sort of job on Floyd. I know it's easier said than done, but your clearly not going to outbox Floyd, so why be timid and stand there like a sitting duck as Guerrero etc have done.

Alvarez is probably the other interesting opponant out there. His extra size makes things a bit more interesting. It's not realisitc or fair to Floyd to expect him to fight Martinez at 160.

As for the likes of Bradley, Khan, Alexander etc I just don't see them posing a big threat. You have to expect a couple of them to get a chance though, if Floyd is indeed active as he says he will be.

Thoughts?

He will not be beaten, but he will struggle towards the end of his 6 fight deal.

He makes top class fighters look like they are novices.

The chances of him officially losing have gone unless Father Time catches up with him which is possible if he sticks around.

Always thout Williams would have given him trouble had they fought when it was being mooted, the Oscar right was very tight and JLC actually beat him by a very small margin.

The current would be challengers aren't good enough to beat him. Bradley, should he beat Marquez will be the most obvious challenger. Pac would always garner interest but Marquez put paid to that. Shame Floyd didn't do the job himself there. Would have been great for his legacy as well as his bank balance!

Alvarez feet are too slow
Bradley too basic
Marquez same as before
Pacquiao struggles with counter punchers
Martinez at 154, martinez looked old and has technical flaws
Khan has the speed to trouble him but defensive frailties and fragile chin would leave him sleeping.

x2. Sadly I don't see anyone out there now who could test him - not even an up-and-comer who I'd fancy in a couple of years' time.

Alvarez has fast hands but feet are crap. He also will have to get to 147. why should Floyd move up to fight the young relatively unproven pup? Who is the STAR? MoneyMayweather.

50-0 and out will be the order of the day.

Alvarez is the only one i feel confident has his number.

Pacquiao is an interesting one. Both are showing signs of age'ing IMO, though i'd expect Mayweather to shut him down and pick him of. I'm 65% to 35% in favour of Mayweather of they meet soon.

He outworks him, will over skill. Close 12 round decision.

Trout maybe? He defeated Alvarez regardless of what the judges thought. And he would have been in a better position to challenge had he still been undefeated. Not that he still isn't. If Floyd has 5 more fights in him then Trout should be on the radar.

Cant outwork him if you can't actually hit him. I'd trade the 5 remaining fights to see just 1 fight at a catch vs Ward.

Time and again we've seen Floyd struggle with bigger guys who advance in straight lines, have no lateral movement, don't have footwork and are easy to hit — he's dropped, like 5-6 decisions against those types of guys. As for creaky southpaws with limited technique who are easy to read and can have their range taken by Shane plus get themselves chinned by Marquez, he's had real problems with those types of dudes in the past.

I honestly think that Katsidis is the man for the job, his ability to walk forward in a straight line while taking punishment sets him apart from the pack.

Mayweather-Katsidis must be made, immediately.
 you're taking this way too seriously! ;;-)

I am drowning in your sarcasm. Alvarez is tailor-made for Floyd. Floyd will counter-punch him at will.

Mayweather would cut Canelo's face to shreds. Canelo is tailor made for Mayweather.

Bradley - it would be an awful fight but Mayweather would find a way to win.
Alexander - see above
Garcia - Mayweather is too big
Matthese - too crude, but massive puncher so would be an intriguing fight

If Khan had a chin I actually think he would stand the best chance but facts are facts, Amir cannot hold a shot so Mayweather would stop him.

I don't think anyone has the remotest of chances against Mayweather. He is just too good and always has been.

It is really as simple as that.

Really, Mayweather sets the pace. The problem being if Floyd fights and schools him what next? Amir Khan beats him?

Yeah i think Alvarez too although Mayweather would beat him as well in all honestly, but hey Floyd would beat anyone alive today around his weight catagory but we can all still speculate :KO:
Amir Khan-great speed of hand and foot/inability to take a punch
Saul Alvarez-big,strong,accurate/too ponderous
Timothy Bradley-tough,game,doesnt know how to lose/hasnt got the skillset
Sergio Martinez-slick,big,decent power/ageing,each fight harder than the last
Devon Alexander-very quick,slippery/heart has been found wanting on big stage
just a few reasons why i dont think Moneys losing anytime soon

He doesn't set the pace against Alvarez, Canelo will push him hard all the way through the fight. An aging Oscar ran a much younger FMJ pretty close. Floyd is older now and that will start to show.
