Was a bit gutted Eddie couldn't make the Diaz fight happen, would have been an interesting benchmark.
As it goes, for a comeback fight its a pretty tough matchup, potentially made easier with it being over 10 rounds (I assume it is still a 10 rounder). I'll definitely watch it.

it gets him a run out and puts to bed his last performance against him I suppose.

cant think why anyone would be interested in this, sure Carson gave him a run out in first fight but that was only because he never prepared right, I watched Carson against dean byrne at Olympia and if has like that kell will have him out in 4 rounds
I really don't get kell journey at the moment I know the world title has gone for now but Eddie has confirmed already he will be fighting Diaz after Jones and I think both these fights are a step back for kell
looking at kells record I really cant see why I got caught up in the hype but im coming to realise kells just going to keep taking these fights he knows he going to win and keep the cash train going and who can blame him but I wont be buying into it anymore

Boring fight, he should fight someone better.

Don't know why this rematch has been made to be honest. Kell beat Jones last time but Jones will take some confidence from the fight and might fancy it. If Kell gets beat, then his world title bid is surely over.
Feels like a backward step.

not sure how its boring, their last one certainly wasn't?
That been said i would have liked to have seen him in with someone else considering it should have been Alexander

If Brook can't beat Jones in the rematch then he would have very little chance at winning in a world title fight anyway.
This rematch should be relatively risk free.

Rematches of good fights tend not to be as good.
Jones looked awful against Byrne, so that has killed his credibility for the rematch in my opinion.
Brook should be aiming higher than this, this is really poor. He is treading water almost as much as Cleverly is, but at least Cleverly is likely to be fighting Braehmer soon.

Maybe you are right, i just think Jones may be well up for it as he came close last time.
I do think he should be fighting someone better though, don't get me wrong, i just don't think it will be boring.

Jones is better than he showed against Byrne, so maybe I'm being too negative and it will be a good fight.
Brook has been a pro over 8.5 years though and for all the hype he gets, he hasn't done much so far worth gloating about and this fight won't change that.

Only if he sucks.
He can't really fight anyone worse than this can he?

It will be interesting to see if Kell's new found fitness regime. (Never coming to the ring out of shape again) enables him to carry the form he showed in the first few rounds all the way to victory this time

Not the best but its a starting point Kell needs to get him out in good time which I expect him to do.
Be a decent first step back as Jones knows he withstood Kells power he will come to win so both will be up for it.
I expect Brook to finish him in 6 rounds make a statement and move on to a tougher challenge its not gonna be easy to get back in contention for title .
Unless Purdy sparks Devon in the biggest upset in boxing history

Kell Brook is starting to piss me off. I have never known someone be on the cusp of a world title fight without getting one for So long. He's 29-0 and still no sign of a title fight despite god knows how many eliminaters. He was on the brink when with Warren and that was years ago.
3 times he was due to fight Alexander but the fight always fell through because of injury. Sounds too coincendental to me.
I don't know what is going on but he and Eddie need to deliver. A return with Jones is a lose-lose situation for Brook.

You can bet your bottom dollar if Warren had put this on there would have been an outcry ala Calzaghe Veit 2.
Does Eddie owe Carson Jones a favour - he loves the guy. Maybe it's because Jones comes cheap?

No title fight in sight apart from the one he was going to fight this weekend?
I agree he needs tougher matching, but I would expect that to happen after this comeback fight. Eddie is mooting a big fight here in Sheffield in September.

Getting tedious from Eddie Hearn now....endless "eliminators" and recycled opponents for Kell - can just hear the desperate crap Sky and Smith will come out with over this one...A REAL DANGERMAN FOR KELLLLLL BROOK TONIGHT ( yawn )

There's some real, proper garbage spouted on here.
Alexander was injured once, Brook twice. That fight seemed jinxed.
So he's been out for a while and obviously needs a run out/make time fight before he kicks on again, especially after the injuries.
They pick a bloke who he had a really hard time against (I don't think Jones is that good, btw) instead of a Latvian journeyman where he'd just get some target practice.
Should he sit on his arse for months whilst he gets a title fight or have a 'run out'? If you think the latter, who should he fight then?

I like both Brook and Cleverly and whilst I am not in complete agreement with your views on Clev, I do appreciate your point. At least Clev is fighting for a world title each time he fights. Brook is just fighting endless eliminaters. For me, he is one of the more talented fighters in this country and should be fighting in better (world) class fights.

Absolute rubbish! After having to pull out of the World title fight twice due to injury what type of fight were you expecting Kell to return to? He obviously wasn't going to go straight back into another world title fight, so I think Carson is an acceptable opponent under the circumstances
