People accuse Mayweather (Sorry to use the M word - ATG - in the same sentence as HAYE) of cherry picking but at least he paid his dues.

I've never liked him, and I never will.

I don't think he has conned the fans, if they're stupid enough to believe his words then more power to him I guess.

I loved his career at cruiser, genuinely exciting and involved in some good scraps and some great KOs. At Heavy it's been a lot of talk but just not great fights. The 2 big fights he's had, i.e. Valuev and Klitschko have been tap and run jobs.

He's injured his hand so as he can fight tyson fury in a football stadium in july the same way vlad injured himself for the chisora fight when fighting haye.

Hasn't carried the excitement he gained in the cruiserweight division up for me. No real complaints at his opposition but he hasn't been nearly active enough. The stoppage victories over Ruiz, Barrett and Chisora is better form than any other British heavy along with the Harrison stoppage and Valuev victory. He stepped up against Wlad, they both fought like shits, people should move on. When I think of who I'd like to see Vitali fight he is still the first name to mind.

Okay, he caused me to travel a long way to watch Wlad v Chagaev but I got drunk and still enjoyed myself.

The heavyweight division is crap, that Tyson Fury seems to be right up there speaks volumes

Hamburg fiasco

I was dissapointed by his Klitschko effort, but when I look back at his record he has been in some entertaining bouts. Chisora, Mormeck, Enzo, Fragameni, Thompson, Barret, Ruiz, and even A Force all had their moments.They were all fights that I remember for various reasons. He has entertained.

Still if anyone is to blame it has to be a toss up between Groves and the Secret.

Loks as if Haye is not as loved as he likes to think.

Personally I will alays want hm to get beat then he can be an extra in some crap on Sky1.

And I was once a fan.

Hamburg certainly didn't go as well as he'd have hoped but does anyone honestly think he fought that fight to not get knocked out? No chance, Haye has good power for a heavy and is lightening quick, so his best chance of getting to Klitschko was clearly getting in & out, not standing in front of him to be hit; although he did that later in the fight to try as get Wlad to have a pop at him, and had him hanging on desperately in the 12th.

It infuriates me how he gets criticism for the Valuev fight. He went to foreign soil and took the heavyweight title from a giant who both Klits have avoided for years; and very nearly had him over in the last round, all with a broken hand. Again, against a man with a reach advantage of about six inches what would you like him to do, walk forward and act as a punchbag all night?

Absolute bollocks. People who criticise the Valuev performance know sweet FA about boxing IMO. Booth & Haye devised a gameplay to beat him comfortably which Haye executed perfectly. 10/10 for that one IMO.

How many fights at HW since haye moved up have been more exciting than the chisora fight?

As you say, it's people who have only seen a fight or two of his.

Their ignorance is there doing.

Mormeck, Barrett, Chisora, Fragomeni were exciting. Even Thompson was exciting. Ruiz was involved in his most exciting fight ever against Haye too! His dodgy performance against Mock was entertaining.

Bonin, Gurov, Enzo etc were all explosive wipeouts.

Having watched virtually every fight Haye has had since turning pro, he has been involved in 3 "stinkers", Wlad, Valuev and the first time he went the distance against the Belgian chap who's name escapes me now ( that night was a bit of a con, he barely threw a right hand all night and simply wanted to do the 12 )

I dont believe k2 ducked valuev, but he certainly would of been a more interesting match than some of there recent opponents !

British boxing is better when haye is fighting.

Just want to see him fight more often really.

The venue for Haye / Fury is a tough one. Haye probably wont go to Manchester, Fury wont go to London. Fury would need riot police to escort him to the ring in Liverpool. What arenas are big enough for the fight.

Haye v Fury will be a massive fight.

It would be amusing if Haye came back at cruiser. I know he won't obviously because of the lesser money.

Be great for the legacy though. Three fights at cruiser, unify, and bow out. Be nice seeing him fight guys who's main main attributes are related to actual boxing ability as opposed to sheer size! ( Fury, as much as I like him, wouldn't go beyond domestic level if he were 6ft tall )

Haye is already one of the best Cruiserweights in recent years. He would destroy all the champs today. He would demolish Huck.

Haye would have been a nonentity in the HW divisions even in the early 80s or early 2000s as he just has no desire to fight . Its a rarely discussed thing here but he is very risk averse as a HW not Audley risk averse in the ring but risk averse. Forget the MOnte Barret blow out that led to him promising so much or the beating of a dinosaur Ruiz or even the impressive Chisora win. With his talent and speed and power he should be fighting 3 times at least a year and knocking out Valuev and having a real go at the Klitchkos. Like i say i had the Wladimir fight much closer than most Brits but for all his big talk i can see how it was hugely disapointing as has been his inability to start fighting a real schedule instead of talking and trying to do a Mayweather fighting once a year. he isnt a Mayweather
