OLIVER McCALL SPOILER

Oliver McCall lost an eight round decision to Zimnoch, who clung on and spoiled his way to the win. He has a stinky hit-then-hold John Ruiz mentality. Little amateur flurries then hold on tight, bend over, run away. McCall was strong, old, and slow to pull the trigger. Zimnoch never made any dent in him whatsoever, and the Bull still has that weird Benitez-style radar to sense exactly where the punches are coming from.
Zimnoch didn't look comfortable in there. It would have been interesting to see another two rounds. Certainly not a heavyweight to get excited about, boring, noncombative, the ancient McCall of a few years ago who squashed Saleta and beat up Samil Sam would have handled this fellow with ease in my opinion.
I hope McCall can now hang the gloves up. He's had an incredible career, is a great talker and would make a fun analyst.

Elijah McCall suffered a cataclysmic defeat that I hope persuades him to make a living by some other means. He was left hanging over the middle ropes, totally gored and drenched in his own blood in the 4th.
Not nice to say but Elijah has absolutely nothing that his dad has, the defensive nous, the chin, the cunning, the punch power, the brute strength, the fitness, fearlessness, nothing. It all looked very hard work for him and his chin threatened to betray him throughout. The end was terrible and you had to feel pretty sorry for him. Alas, he did try.

My younger brother is trained in Muaythai and has won 11 of his fights. I never thought I'd say this but my brother could probably beat up Riddick Bowe pretty badly.

Thankfully this event was cancelled.
Please can somebody just give Riddick Bowe a job?

Incredible how other combat sports are willing to take ancient washed up boxers and match them against the best in their field. How incredibly legitimate.
Can you imagine a washed up old kickboxer or MMA star making their debut against a boxer ranked anywhere near the top 10?

I often wonder if this is so other combat sports can lord it over boxing and claim to be tougher?
