Do not let Amir anywhere near this fella
I'd put my mortgage on him to KO King Khan in 3 rounds tops

You missed the boat, that sailed tonight. No longer will you get a decent price on a Matthysse KO in the near future.

Seen a lot of great boxers in the flesh fortunately enough but this guy carries power he hurt Peterson with every shot even the little shots very vicous great to watch live but dangerous as an opponent!! Heard he has sparred Martinez in the past and caused him real problems don't know how true it is but can believe it with the way he beat Peterson!! Felt sorry for Darren Barker having to make a decision on Purdy but I feel great corner work as always another day well done Darren and lee!!

Excellent, looks like PEDs don't help you stand up to shots like that

He can punch and he looks very tough too. Never seen him shaken either.

Khan said "I'd love to fight Lucas"
It would be the end of his career

Crunching power from Lucas - I think he'll probably whack Danny Garcia who is not elusive. Needless to say, Khan has no plans to get involved with either of these men.
What on earth was Garcia wearing? I'm all for eccentric fashion, but he looked like some tacky nouveau riche reality star. What goes on in these guy's minds?
As an aside, did anyone have to suffer the Showtime commentary? Talk about three guys waffling over each other. the lead commentator puts on a stupid voice that is unnatural and distracting, like a wrestling commentator, nauseatingly refers to Al Bernstein as 'a hall of fame announcer!' every time he speaks, and Malignaggi is just a torrentofwordswithnospacesbetweenthem. This is the way sports presentation is nowadays. No more Don Dunphy's, just idiots screaming at you.

Lucas does hit really hard and has good timing; I do think him v Garcia would be brilliant. I think Amir would get caught eventually and dropped and stpped though he had a point when he said that Maidana had done pretty much the same thing and Khan had boxed and beaten him.
Matthysse ought to earn big money - he is active, seems afraid of no one and goes full on for the knockout. If he cleans up at light welter a catch weight bout with Maidana would be incredible, (I think that they boxed each other as amateurs with Maidana winning 2 of 3, all on points).

Do you think Khan could survive an early rounds onslaught against Matthysse with his ear muffs on for 3 minutes? I don't think he would, he's clueless when under pressure and Maidana almost had him out of there, albeit late in the fight.

I don't think that anyone at light welter will absorb a Matthysse punch, hook or right and do well; he forces the fight and makes an opponent make mistakes. I don't think Khan would dodge him though and I imagine that it would be a decent bout and if it were a changing of the guard Khan wouldn't bottle going out on his shield. Lucas has unusual power and non chinny fighters will get rolled straight over; a boxer who knows he has a 'chin issue' may do better than someone who has never been touched.

Acelino Freitas before he moved up to lightweight. Fearsome!

I think I remember commentator Barry Jones dropping Freitas and doing well before getting ground down. Lucas has a far better chin than Freitas.

It's not a bad comparison. But your right "Popo" hit the canvas more than a few times on his way up.

Anyone can get a flash-knockdown. I don't think Acelino went down many times at superfeather. I'm sure Lucas will taste some canvas at some point.

I was just saying that SKYcommentator Jones who wasn't known for his wrecking ball fists did well; most of Acelinos' opponents (on the way up and after) were too afraid and on the back foot to think about throwing a punch back.

He certainly had a run of getting opponents out of there very early. He had one of Naz's old opponents, Daniel Alicea out of there in a round. There was a lot going for him, but there was a lot of B opposition.

Yeah Jones dropped him for a 2 count or something, he looked surprised to be there but wasn't hurt.
Maidana is a wild banger who throws hooks and winging shots, he's got a jab since hooking up with Garcia but Mattyhsse punches very straight at times, particularly with the right hand and I don't see Khan going more than 2-3 rounds as he isn't adept at avoiding straight punches (or left hooks, really, come to think about it) and standing there with his gloves round his ears isn't going to help him at all.
I also think LM would do Danny Garcia in 4-5 rounds too.
