How do you think Hatton would have got on against the likes of Khan, Peterson, Matthyse, Bradley, Alexander and Garcia et al?

Im not sure , Think he would have beaten Garcia , Peterson and Alexander , but i wouldnt fancy anyone taking the power of Matthyse right now , Khan would have been too fast and i think Bradley would be a 50 50 but ugly scrap , thats not to say that i think khan is better than the likes of bradley , just stylistically i think the speed would have been a bit too much for hatton .

Matthysse looks like a real dangerman, but the rest would be underdogs against Hatton.

I think he'd have beaten Garcia like a drum, knocked Khan and Peterson out and taken a serious hiding from Matthysse. Bradley and Alexander are all wrong for him, with Alexander beating him fairly convincingly but it wouldn't be a good fight to watch. Bradley's workrate, chin and boxing are not a good match, but his propensity for a war could favour Hatton, and I don't think Bradley has the power to trouble Hatton so it could be a good match, albeit one that I expect Bradley to win.

i think he beats Alexander (im not convinced Alexander is even as good as Malignaggi). I think probably gets out pointed by Bradley. Although those 2 are in 147 now. I think he has a good tear up with Peterson where i'd probably favour him. I think he has a good fight with Garcia where someone get's stopped, my gut says Hatton loses. I think Matthysse gives him the Pacquiao. But Hatton Knocks Out Khan!

Bradley is 50/50
The rest? Prime Hatton starts as favourite

Bradley - Close fight with Hatton maybe edging it with a slightly better workrate and the better power punches.

Khan - Ricky well behind on the cards would get to him by midway.

Garcia - Tricky 1 to call, Garcia is adaptable and wouldn't wage war with Hatton, both will likely get caught by something big eventually, just a case of who takes it better

Matthyse - Hatton gets caught eventually. but would probably be winning the fight at that point.

Peterson - Hatton wins by clear UD.

At his peak, the night he fought Tszyu, he beats the lot. Other than that night:

Khan - Loses the early rounds but starts him to break him down and stops him in the mid rounds.

Peterson - Wins comfortably by UD, possibly stops him late on.

Matthyse - Depends how well his chin holds up, he would be winning the rounds, but if Matthyse lands clean on anyone, their in trouble and Hatton did have a habit of blocking more and more punches with his face as the fight went on.

Bradley - Bradley isn't the biggest of punchers, so that suits Hatton and if he could drag him into a war Hatton wins on points, but if Bradley can box on the back foot, he takes a tight decision.

Alexander - Isn't a big puncher and Hatton could grind him down and beat him on points.

Garcia - Has made his name by beating a shot Erik Morales twice and knocking out Amir Khan. I don't think he's as big of a puncher as he is sometimes suggested to be and I he faded late on in the Judah fight, I think Hatton stops him late on with a body shot.

In the real World, Hatton defends his WBU against Super feathers and ducks all the top guys until ONE OF THEM GETS REALLY OLD and fouls him into submission.

Remember, this is the Hatton who struggled against Urango and had life and death with Collazo.
Hatton did look good against shot older fighters though.

Prime Hatton? When was this? WBU days? Urango? Floyd? Pac?

At a lower level Hatto was devastating, world level? Competitive.

Ignore the shitty WBU reign. Hatton bullied Tszyu, who was coming off a rematch with Sharmba Mitchell where he improved his performance from the first fight.

In what way did he struggle with Urango? He won 11 rounds of 12 on all 3 cards.

He fought an excellent gameplan against Kostya but it was largely based around a. dictating the tempo, he always liked to fight at a low pace that he set himself b. closing the gap immediately and smothering his punches, he always needed leverage and distance to get full power on them.

If you watch the fight again, he does it immediately and eats 2-3 punches on the way in then basically was on his chest for the rest of the round. Even at the time of the stoppage it was still fairly close, and this was a KT who was fairly "old" in boxing terms.

Can't remember the fight very well, but just because there was a lot of holding doesn't mean he struggled.

I reckon Hatton would beat them all.

Yeah I agree with most that but I think Hatton would edge Bradley. Alexander is too slick.

Ricky's prime was actually quite fleeting. One fight after Tszyu and he was starting to get a little crude. I think Khan, Bradley and Alexander would all outbox him. He could overpower Peterson and Garcia. And outbox Lucas for a decision.

A peak Hatton (Oliveria, Tackie and Tszyu) fights beats them all apart from Matthysse.

Hasn't Alexander beaten Matthysse? All this hype about him, surely he should have beaten Alexander.

Ricky would beat Khan and Alexander for definite and I think would beat Garcia. I havent seen much of Matthysse yet and havent actually watched Saturdays fight yet.

This 100%. Hatton was a fantastic fighter and ignoring the comeback fight, he was only outclassed by Mayweather (could be argued that Hatton gave him more of a fight than Guerrero) and Pacquiao. He was more than competive and the aggressor in every fight.

Malignaggi has had a bit of a re-birth and has been competitive again at world level which has rightly earned him plaudits. He got destroyed against Hatton so to say Hatton would struggle now is quite mystifying.

I think he would probably win the lot and that doesn't mean i think it would be easy, one-sided fights but i think he had the fight in him to keep going when it would get tough against this current crop.
