Been told loaded have pulled the plug on boxing (shame)

What, before a show? Makes a change from during it.

Surprised about this. Loaded have recently signed a deal to televise the Liverpool based MMA promotion OMMAC's shows. I thought this would be as well as boxing rather than instead of it.

Their coverage was absolutely bobbins anyway. They attended the two Rainton Meadows shows and cocked everything up from the start. The first Dickinson v Dolan show had "technical" problems so they missed the whole undercard. They did eventually show it in parts over the next few weeks at least.
As for the second show for the Dickinson v Stafford British Cruiser title, that was even worse. The footage was unwatchable due to extreme ghosting of the cameras if the fighter's moved! Even worse the idiots cut to adverts halfway through a round rather than at the end of a round! To top it all their footage ended and some crap programme started as the Chris Bennett v Billy Smith fight went into the last round!
It was a nice idea for them to show regional local pro boxing but they couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery. The whole channel is worse than the numerous other recently failed "lad's" channels and will soon sink without trace. BNation need to take the idea and do it properly.

It was only the other month they had a big spread in that new BritBox magazine, going on about 50/50 matches and the like. What a load of balls!

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Sky EPG on the market in the next 6 months. They built a channel for men, which mainly has a load of women chatting about rubbish - what man wants to watch that? Might be different if the women had a braincell between them, but I don't want to watch it and my misses doesn't want to watch it, so don't know what audience they intend to capture. Nuts TV was actually better, which is, well, nuts.
In terms of 'live boxing' it was never going to work, the production costs are too high, and without having a Prizefighter type show, they would never get the average punter watching. If they are going the MMA route, they probably see this as the core audience of the magazine, and much easier to get the average punter watching - which may well be true.
Can't see allegedly picking up the small UK shows, it won't bring in new subscribers, and the US shows where they pick up won't be costing much.

Why wouldn't small UK shows not generate new subscribers? Its not a channel for the casual fan per se, its a dedicated boxing channel so its only real chance is to get the avid boxing fan to subscribe and (more importantly) to keep that subscriber once they've got him.
Small hall shows showing the up and coming pros starting their careers will introduce new boxers while they can still afford them, improve the promoter's fighter's exposure to a larger audience and would negate the endless repeats on the channel at the current time. The promoters won't lose on ticket sales as the vast majority of the audience won't live local to the show and if they do its improving the show's exposure for future ticket sales.
The business model employed by loaded is sound, they just sucked at the production stage.

Surely a very significant proportion of the hardcore boxing fans that would be interested in watching the small hall shows are either already subscribing to BN or have made a decision not to?

It should be the other way round, Boxing pulls the plug on LOADED!

Presentation/picture quality was crap.
