British Champions - who's the best and who's got the most potential?
Which of the British champions at the moment would you say was the best on a pound for pound basis and who do you feel has the most potential of them all?

I'll go with Selby at the moment for both.
As far as the others, Price could make it to world class because of his power and weak division. Buckland is really unfortunate but could mix at a higher level and we're about to find out a lot more on Gavin and Saunders.

Only Selby.

Butler hasn't struggled at all and seems to be coping well within himself so does Satchell; I think Hamilton and Selby will do very well some of the others (not Gethin) seem to have been about for ages not getting any better and not getting worse.

I'll plump for Butler most potential and Selby best of the bunch - he did his rivals in good style.

Butler, Gavin and Selby seem to have the most going for them at the minute.

I see Saunders as being the best prospect of the lot.

Dickinson has to be the weakest.

Selby needs to be tested at European level then you can see! I agree he's the best prospect though

Thats a very strong list of champions looking at it. I could see most, if not all, boxing and winning an EBU title.

Haskins at Bantamweight is well above domestic class and was in a barnstormer against Jamoye who is right on the cusp of a World title shot. Not saying he is the best British champ but he is way above domestic class with wins over Jamie McDonnell and a wide points win over Stuart Hall. But obviously Bantamweight is a tough division and that needs to be taken into account.

Lee Selby,Paul Butler and Billy Joe Saunders

Paul Butler has a LOT of potential from what I have seen.

Palooka, his the most naturally talented, his timing is near perfect, his ring craft and footwork is second to none, his variety is endless, he takes a good shot, he may lack one punch power, but his accuracy kind of makes up for that, he will make Denton look like a 3 fight novice !
I do very much like lee selby too ! He has a swagger I love because he backs it up every time....

Haskins is good but he can be on fire or 'it's' just not quite there; he's got good power for a bantam as well and the McDonnell bout was a good win but a while ago now; Jamie changed gears and got his act together and has done brilliant since, Haskins got the fallout from the Don Broadhurst bout.

Frankie is very talented and has some great gifts; to push on he'll have to work very hard and be consistent; he's not busy enough and there does seem to be some reason or excuse all the time for him not being where he ought to be, (top of the world). I read a thread recently and Dean Francis was mentioned and a poster said if he every got his head together he'd do well still etc etc; I went upstairs and read a boxing news from 1990 and they were saying the same thing about Dean back then! Hope Frankie does well but I do hope that Denton wins and gets some recognition and credit.
