Noticed that Rendall was close to lightweight in his comeback fight (pretty emphatic victory) - does anyone what weight he will be campaigning at in future?
Think I heard on Sky that he was coming back at Lightweightjosco wrote:Noticed that Rendall was close to lightweight in his comeback fight (pretty emphatic victory) - does anyone what weight he will be campaigning at in future?
I'm not sure; if he really boiled down he would have been at 70% of his best. There are boxers that do better with a rise in weight, the thing is keeping him busy; he's not happy waiting about etc etc, he wants to get on. His manager/promoter should get in gear now; I think he'll do well.polecateddy wrote:His big assets were size and strength at super bantam. He will get bombed at British title level.

This is the classic boxers mentality - "if I am strong at this weight, then if I move down then I will be even stronger compared to my opponents" - which is not always the case, sometimes the boxer could be stronger by moving up a weight.
I am not surprised he is moving up in weight as he always looked ripped without much to spare, but am surprised that he is looking to move up 3 weight divisions in one go (maybe this indicates how difficult it was for him to make super bantam ?).
I wonder what weight he walks around at ?
