Although I'm not a fan of Tommy Gilmour - I think it's a good move for Ronnie.

He was always going to be very limited with what he could achieve with Tony Lindie, although I'm sure not sure if Tony will still manage Ronnie?

All the best Ronnie mate.

Tommy will in total charge and will get him a shot at some sort of title maybe he will put Ronnie on the prince v limond undercard :yay: I cant see Tommy put shows on in Dundee for him so his fans will need to travel

This is a move Ronnie needed as he needs to now take it to a new level and be fighting opponents who will manouver him into a position for a crack at a credible title. Tony for a novice promotor deserves alot of respect regarding Ronnie as he worked very hard to even keep him active due to other prospects rightly or wrongly not seeing it as worth it to fight him. Be great to see Ronnie on the undercard of prince v limond though and with notice he will bring a decent crowd along with him. Ronnie Clark V Jon Kays please;)

Good move for all involved. Ronnie deserves some home fights. Hope Gilmour can get him out at least twice or 3 times this year, then kick on next year for a title of some sort.

Dundee already has the basis for some big shows.. I think Tony Lindie deserves a lot if credit for what he has done under trying circumstances. Ronnie is still undefeated and was lined up to fight Liam Walsh for the commonwealth title not many first time promoters can get their fighters to this level within 2 and a bit years. Unfortunately I think Tony may have took Ronnie as far as he can. Ronnie is on the border line of a British title fight and I'm sure after a few fight we will be seeing Dundee's first ever British and Commonwealth champion. Tommy seems to be the man in Scotland that makes things happen so I'm sure within 12-18 months these titles will be up here in Dundee.. I would like to see Ronnie in with John Kay's then Gary Sykes.. Some big fights out there :)

Tommy is not the force he maybe once was that's well know now,yes he may get a commonwealth title shot but that's against Liam Walsh and that's a real hard fight, even harder would be Gary buck land for the British but at present I don't think ronnies in the top ten so he will need to work is way up the ladder, saying that I know he will take fights so it will be interesting how he gets on.

It's all positive guys, and apologies Jamie I did miss your other guys out. But I look forward to seeing how he progresses ...

My sentiments exactly unfortunately. For me Ronnie is 3/4 fights away from being in any position to challenge Gary Buckland or Liam Walsh.

Thanks Billy although I don't think the records on here are anything to go by looking at the top ten Ronnie should be around 5 or 6.. Due to inactivity of certain boxers and ones at a different weight!! Both the fights you mention are good fights and will be very hard!! Hopefully Walsh can get made its one I really want to see!! As for Buckland he will have one more defence then vacate the British so probably down the line before he fights him. There is obviously John Simpson in the mix there as well which could make a big Scottish fight in the next couple of years if both keep winning. Like I said someone like Kay's then Sykes would be good stepping stones..

Tony Lindie deserves a lot of credit for what he done with Ronnie, even for making the effort of getting him on show infront of his home fans. Hopefully Tony still manages to do some shows now he has lost Ronnie as he put a lot of effort into them and had a few good ones to be proud of.

I really dont think a single person has seen the best of Ronnie. Ronnie is always in great shape and is never massive when inactive. He trains every single day just for the enjoyment and has a genuine love for being in the ring. The thing is if Ronnie is to progress he needs to be sparring with high level fighters for example harrison, burns , appleby etc. He has gotten through his fights on ability but now the hard work start for him and he knows it:)

Good step up as it might move him up a bit but if he has any ambitions above commonwealth title and fighting in front of 100 people at a dinner show Gilmour probably isnt the way to go. In the short term it might work out ok but i wouldnt of went with a 3 year deal.

As much as the man is a prick Alex Morrison is probably the best promoter in Scotland right now simply because his fighters can get on Ricky Burns bills.

Well said. He could end up featuring on dinner shows which the average punter won't see. Saying that Gilmours next show is at the bellahouston centre surely he'll get on that.

Great move for Ronnie, not really been tested yet, tommy won't hesitate getting him titles in the long run it's a good move,I reckon a fight with Sykes, truscott, or Buckland will show you the level he's at!

Iv not heard anything of a fight and think alba may be right regarding if its possible for gilmour to get him an opponent etc in 2 weeks. Ronnie is always ready to fight unless he has an injury and is usually always around the weight.

Tommy will not like Ronnie mixing with you now Billy unless your giving him ££££ to spar Ricky.. TG doesn't see that it would be great for RC development only time will tell if he can get him a shot of a title with at least 6 weeks notice
