I was watching Question Time last night and it suddenly hit me how Frankie and Alan Johnson must be long lost brothers.

If FW owed money to a boxer then the manager ought to act on the boxers behalf and chase it up, isn't that one of the duties? Don't managers have solicitors etc or could they not contact the BBoC to get it sorted? £25,000 is a lot of money to not get paid.

A problem, a lot of the time, is that the promoter is also the manager. Huge conflict of interest which should not be allowed.

FW doesn't appear to be entirely comfortable with the modern needs of social media and a 24 hour a day news and internet. His forays into the likes of Twitter come across as an uncomfortable 60-year old trying out something he doesn't fully understand. Of course this is fair enough, but as the head of a promotional stable in an era where ticket sales are almost certainly going to be boosted by an effective social media marketing approach, it seems negligent that his organisation hasn't addressed this effectively.

Dinosaurs become extinct because they are unable to adapt to the changing environment. It's all well and good saying he's been around for 30 years so he'll stay the course, but he needs to demonstrate and deliver a capacity to change. First step should be to stop taking every bit of internet criticism so personally and soften his image to fight fans.

He took the piss for as long as possible and now is reaping the rewards of not delivering. If he had listened to the idiots on forums that he despises so badly he might have stood a better chance of putting in place the adaptions required.

His failing has ultimately being Boxings loss. Now we're stuck with one show every few weeks. PPV for sub TOP CLASS promotions- THE EXACT reason why Matchroom were allowed to rise to their position now.

I paid for that last PPV purely out of support for Froch. I hope some of that money filtered into his pocket for being such a great example of a fighter - but that's it now I won't do it again and the boxing coverage absolutely sucks by and large.

Get some domestic shows on Sky give some of the small hall promoters a chance to put together good competitive cards. We're heading back in the direction you and us wanted to not go in.

I might be wrong, but I thought there was a decent lag time between Warren usurping Duff and the latter suffering from serious illness.
Anyway, there are other examples to back up my point... look at the way King has been increasingly squeezed out since Golden Boy's emergence etc.
