Before I continue.
The Scorecards were;
* Referee - Abraham Chavarria......... 147-140 {10-3-2 in Rounds} for Saensak Muangsurin
* Judge - Sakda Permkvandpee......... 148-143 {6-2-7 in Rounds} for Saensak Muangsurin
* Judge - Jonathan Young................. 147-144 {6-3-6 in Rounds} for Saensak Muangsurin
After the bout, Saoul Mamby and his Team filed a protest with the WBC over the
scoring of Mexican Referee - Abraham Chavarria.
The 15-Round bout was closer than the Scorecards indicated, but Saensak was the stronger
puncher and more dominant over the last 4-Rounds, as Saoul was content to jab lightly
and then hold.
'Sweet Saoul' frustrated the Champion over the first 4-Rounds, as he would not stay still to
get tagged, and he would not trade with Saensak.
Saensak started to get the range in Round 5, and moved forward while winging punches on the
elusive defensive specialist.
Saensak had his best moments in Round 10, when he landed several thudding body punches which
made Saoul wobble.
Saoul had his best moments in Round 11, when he caught Saensak coming forward with a hard right hand
counter, and a follow up left-right which stunned the Champion for a 'flash-second'.
The bout appeared to be 'Even' after 11-Rounds.
Wouldn't 6-2-7 equal 148-144?

On the 148-143 = 7-2-6 in Rounds, if every Round was scored {10-9}.
But the Judge from Thailand {Sakda Permkvandpee} scored Round 10 {10-8} for Saensak.
Saensak pounded Saoul Mamby from 'Ring Post-to-Ring Post' with a barrage of body
punches in Round 10.
Ah, I understand now.

Saensak's corner was very nervous after the 9th-Round, as 'Sweet Saoul' had figured out
the trick to out-smarting the 'intelligent fighting' Thai Champion.
Post Fight remarks, from Saensak,
"I felt 'defeat' after 9-Rounds. He was a very good boxer, and his right hand was very accurate."
On the Scorecards, after 9-Rounds.
* Referee - Abraham Chavarria.......... 88-85 {5-2-2} Saensak
* Judge - Sakda Permkvandpee......... 89-89 {1-1-7} 'Even'
* Judge - Jonathan Young................. 88-88 {2-2-5} 'Even'
Note; On paper, it does look like Mexican Referee - Abraham Chavarria was in-the-pocket' of somebody.
I won't accuse the ref of having been paid off.
As for the two judges, 5 and 7 even rounds out of the first 9?

'Sweet Saoul' Mamby neutralized everyone he fought back then.
Saoul ranked as the #4 WBC Light Welterweight in April 1977.
Then on May 31, 1977 - loses to 'similarly crafty' Adianno 'Nani' Marrero in the Dominican Republic.
Quits boxing, in June 1977.
Sitting around for 3+ Months, until he gets a call in early-September 1977 to fight Saensak Muangsurin in October 1977.
Puts up a Hell-of-an-Effort for 11-Rounds..............but loses close 15-Roubd Decision.
Career 'revived'.........

That doesn't conflict with my point.

Judges - Sakda Permkvandpee (Thailand) and Jonathan Young {Hong Kong} were of Asian descent,
and each had the bout 'Even' after 9-Rounds.
Mexican Referee has Saensak up by '3-Points'.
Even Saensak said he felt defeat after 9-Rounds........
El Mundo Deportivo (Spain Newspaper ) and Berita Harian (Malaysian Newspaper) each gave their
account that Saoul Mamby had 'baffled' the Champion with movement and quick right-hand leads
throughout the first-half of the bout.
My guess, Abraham Chavarria was a favorite of Saensak's 'Fight Promoter' - Lope 'Papa' Sarreal
The only thing that shows is a bad scorecard, not corruption.

There's corruption all oover--including where I'm from. That doesn't mean he was.

Even the Malaysian Newspaper {Bertia Haritan} had Saoul Mamby up thru 9-Rounds, and
had the Champion's corner in total confusion in trying to figure out his difficult style.
A bad card doesn't mean corruption, though.
