I have a few minutes of Jack Doyle hitting the heavy-bag and sparring with a black fighter for another couple of minutes on tape.
It was sold to me as McAvoy in training, but there's no way in hell is it "Jock".
After much viewing and even "hearing" someone shouting out Jack, aswell as checking pictures of Doyle, I'm convinced it's him(Jack Doyle)!
If your interested maybe we can work something out.
Yours, Jim.

Do you have the Doyle biography by Michael Taub called "Fighting for love", published around 15 years ago?

No! Sorry, just the "film" of Doyle, which I'll make available with other "short clips",
Roderick vs. Armstrong
McAvoy vs. Harvey
McAvoy vs. Peterson
Cerdan vs. Burnsly (inter-allied tournament)
Cerdan/ Carpentier (sparring)
Cerdan vs. D Turpin
Woodcock "retreat" (Wales)
Mills interview.
All "short's," a few minutes each, but a good "collectors" piece, on DVD or Video.
Jim.

i know doyle was involved in a notorious bout in 1938 with eddie phillips at harringay. the big punching doyle used to rush his opponents but in the second he missed phillips and went flying through the ropes.
he couldn`t get back into the ring before the count of ten because he was held back by friends of phillips ringside.
he tried his luck in the states but was ko`d in one in california by buddy baer, brother of max.

I doubt the book is still in print but checking out
http://www.amazon.co.uk should say.
Otherwise try a specialist boxing memorabilia seller like
http://www.boxingstuff.com
Also, the Doyle biog occasionally pops up on ebay.
