We were watching the French open, tennis on Sunday
And I said, the tennis courts would be a great venue for boxing
As its high up and loads of room to hold up to 20,000 people.
Why has no top promotors gone looking for Wimbledon to hold top championship fights??

The day that the mandarins at Wimbledon even entertain the idea of boxing and boxing fans coming within a couple of miles of its hallowed lawns, will be a very cold day in hell.

Doesn't Wimbledon have a curfew that is before when major fights would start.

I suspect Wimbledon wouldn't even think about it for all the tea in China. Or Barley in Robinsons.

In late 2009 I went to see Sheffield Scimatars (now known as Steeldogs) ice hockey team play at Sheffield Ice and fought 'this would make a great boxing venue'. Now Glyn Rhodes is doing shows there and believes it is the best boxing venue in the country.
Ice hockey arenas are perfect for boxing because their usually quite compact with tiered seating. Much better than most of the leisure centres promoters often use.
I think these would be great little venues for boxing shows.
Altrincham Ice Dome -

Hull Arena -

Cardiff Arena (this is not the CIA aka Motorpoint Arena often used for boxing) -

Coventry Sky Dome Arena -

Probably hard to get away with tiered ticket prices in those sort of venues.

Don't think it's the same place.
Think Ingle v Medina was this one -

Whereas I mean this one -

Ingle boxed there before though.

It was at the ice arena. The other wasn't even built then.
