how would of frank Bruno done today vs british and world level fighters .a fight vs haye would be close also vs fury or price .

haye would beat him convincingly Fury would be a close call and with Price it would depend who landed first bruno could dig as his high rate of knockouts proved.

The only guy that would have given Bruno problems would have been Haye. Forget the rest...............

Yeah, Haye is the only one who would trouble Bruno because of his power and speed

Frank would have eaten fury for breakfast. Him v haye would have been quality

Bruno came before his time, I know he beat McCall but if Bruno had been here these days there would be no doubt he would have been a great fighter. Not saying he would have beaten Haye or Clit but he would have made people sit up and watch.

Same goes for Benn and Eubank. Even Herol Graham today would have done better than in his time.

Not seen anything from Haye that makes me think he'd beat Bruno or be able to take his power.

He would have had to have been matched carefully as always. Fury with all his flaws probably was the best match for Frank. Haye probably would have out-speeded Frank and beaten him late.

I don't think Haye would have survived til late. He's been put down by much lighter punchers. Bruno was a lot better than people remember; he could box pretty well and had a HUGE right.

Depends. Does the ref allow Frank to whack Haye round the back of the head?

I'm a big Frank Bruno fan and as a kid watching his early world title challenges got be into boxing. He had terrific strength, excellent basic skills and heavy hands. But as well as the well documented struggle to drag himself over the finish line in 12 rounders due to his muscle density, I think realistically his speed was only average. Tellingly he failed to score a single knock-down in any of his world title fights. I suspect Haye would have survived okay.

There's no denying big Frank did well in that fight. He even shock Lewis a bit in that 3rd round. It was outdoors and they say Lewis started slow cos of the cold. And to be fair it was a less formidable, early version of Lewis. Still I think it might just be Bruno's best performance.

yep Lewis only dealt with it by holding his arm arm staright on Bruno's head (unfairly) IMO

There's another school of thought which says it wasn't his muscles but his brain, and that as the fight went on, he went more and more into choke mode. I don't know the answer, but I also don't think Haye has the chin to go through the sort of wars that Witherspoon, Tyson and McCall all went through in other fights - do you see Mormeck putting any of those on the floor? I agree that if it goes to the late rounds, Haye has more and more chance, but I don't think it would get there unless Haye really went into his shell, and if he did, I can see Frank having more in the tank than he did against the likes of 'Spoon.

Think Bruno would pole axe Price at any stage of their careers, with Price waving his hand in front of Bruno id wager big frank would do it with his jab!

I'll reserve judgement on Fury till he's fought people of the same standard as Bruno.

The Haye fight for me is all about Hayes belief and if he thinks he can win and will he come to survive ala Wlad. Personally I think bruno's underrated jab, hammer punch would win early or would wear Haye down in the later rounds. There is nothing in Hayes resume that says he'll hurt Frank or could take the pounding hell get at points I the fight.

Why do you think Chisora has a proven chin?? There is nothing on his slate to prove that theory unless your counting Vitali going through the motions as proving Del Boys chin.

Bruno is much underrated - that jab of his was like a piledriver, and he was effective with it too, Haye isn't THAT quick, he was outsped by Wlad throughout the fight, he is a decent mover, but his punches are wide and slow, and Bruno's jab was stiff and direct, not a pawing rangefinder.

Sure, Haye could have hurt Bruno, but I think Bruno would have got there first with the jab, and that would have started the rot, Haye has always been vulnerable - even below heavyweight, he just hasn't really been tagged often at the weight.

Either man could stop the other, but Bruno was a natural heavyweight and a bigger hitter, so I would have to favour him.

Fury has nothing to trouble Bruno - poor punch technique, poor coordination, lanky, and a below average chin.

The only area I would say Fury is superior is MAYBE stamina, that was Frank's achilles heel, but we've note seen Fury under sustained pressure against a decent fighter, let's see how his stamina holds up when he's under pressure, because that is what really tests a fighter.

Chisora has nothing like Bruno's skill level though, or workrate, he's slow, lazy, and his punches are all telegraphed looping shots, and he has very little power despite his bulk. He even makes Bruno look fleet of foot.

My thoughts, exactly.

IMO big Frank would be too much for today's batch. He gave bonecrusher smith, tim whitherspoon , Lennox Lewis all hard nights and even Tyson for a few rounds when no one else lasted 2. They all beat him but where would these guys be today. Lewis and Tyson surely in most people's top ten. Again IMO , smith and whitherspoon would be too much for the rest also.
