Over 12 rounds who takes this?
I pick Benitez also.Borinken25 wrote:Taylor had speed but Benitez defense would have neutralize that. I pick Benitez by decision. Taylor was flashy but not smart.
You never like him because he school your boy Duran.elmersalsa wrote:I never liked him, but I got to say the great Wilfred Benitez by decision.
Yeah, elmer loves Duran.Borinken25 wrote:You never like him because he school your boy Duran.elmersalsa wrote:I never liked him, but I got to say the great Wilfred Benitez by decision.
The OP unfortunately didn't specify which division. I evaluated at jr. welter.TYTY wrote:I'll Take Benitez ....Taylor WASNT A GREAT Welterweight Better 140 Pound Fighter.....
The great Wilfred Benitez did not do much to begin with. It was more of what the great Roberto Duran did not do than anything. Put those two at their very best from 147 lbs down, and we see different outcomes. Maybe Benitez on the floor crawling just like Esteban Dejesus did in fight #3.Borinken25 wrote:You never like him because he school your boy Duran.elmersalsa wrote:I never liked him, but I got to say the great Wilfred Benitez by decision.

In my humble opinion we never saw the best Benitez, a old timer who was involved with him told me he never , ever fully trained for a fight from what he sawelmersalsa wrote:The great Wilfred Benitez did not do much to begin with. I agree.Il Duce wrote:I'm going in the opposite direction......
Meldrick Taylor with his quick-fisted 'in-and-out' attacks would 'edge' out Wilfred Benitez at Light Welterweight.
Welterweight, a different story, as it would be Wilfred in a close one....
Indeed, he was a hot and cold fighter. If he's on though, I favor Benitez.Ambling Alp II wrote:If Benitez fought like he normally did, he would win this. However, occasionally he would have a bad performance, and Taylor would win in that case.
