If he can't find an suitable opponent at the cemetery, he should give Andrew Flintoff a ring. They can have all British showdown at a stadium somewhere & Harrison could be come the first man to defeat Flintoff.

Exactly. Audley can still fight at a certain level and would make short work of most them.

It's pretty weird for a trial horse level fighter like Harrison being talked about as having a 'comeback fight'. Errr, David Ingleby anyone?

The fight won't be in the UK that's for sure. Who the hell would put him on a bill here before he has strung a few wins together.

Completely disagree James, it would depend on his salary.... TV won't be interested, but he would sell out a small hall still. People will pay to see him lose.

I know it was an undercard fight, but look how full the arena was for Wilder vs Harrison.....

It is not a Johnny Nelson scenario, sure both stank the place out - but Johnny was never that famous to begin with.

If he is prepared to drop his demands (cause it aint going to be on TV) then he'll will sell out a small hall fight.... particularly if the opponent is popular (liked) in the local community.

Adams vs Harrison looked to have a decent crowd.

The problem for Audley is fighting for a small purse when he is used to good pay days and he has to come over from the USA to fight as he will get even less over there.

Yes, but he never seems to learn that beating several people who aren't very good doesn't add up to beating one person who is good.

It's like a numbers game to him. "I have beaten 5 mediocre fighters, 5 mediocre fighters adds up to one good fighter, therefore I can now beat David Haye".

He made a hell of a lot of money not beating top fighters. Far more than he would have made not beating fringe top ten fighters.

How about Audley Harrison - Danny Williams III? Both have one win each so they could decide the trilogy, but also make sure it's in the contract that whoever loses actually bites the bullet and stays retired! In fact, make it that win, lose or draw they both bugger off for good!

It was not a mistake! It was totally calculated. Benefits:

1) I promised Ali Adams an opportunity. I fulfilled my promise to a boxer and other boxers can see I keep my promises.
2) It raised the profile of Goodwin Promotions
3) Boxers on the show were able to sell more tickets and got higher purses.
4) Yes I lost a few quid but it was worth it.

Now the situation is different. Audley does not offer any of my fighters anything to gain. For example if Ian Lewison beats him people will say that was epxected if he struggles then Ian would get slated.

But in summary it was not a mistake.
