People often rant about there being too many sanctioning bodies, but I always wonderd how would you unify them all so you have one?

I'm assuming they are companies , so I suppose if you head deep pockets you could buy them out?

Can never see it happening though, there is too much money around for them

It'd never happen as long as the governing bodies can happily take fees from 5 or 6 sanctioning bodies. It would need the governing bodies to step up and have the balls to not recognise some of the mickey mouse belts (as the BBBoC did with the WBF and WBU to be fair) and then force the couple of major belts left to amalgamate.

Idk that you can get the abc groups to unify is the #1 problem. It would seem that if some serious boxing people came up with their own title/ranking org & could get the top guys to agree to fight for their title then the abc groups could become less important to the game today. The problem is getting people boxers would respect or really just a guy with a sh!tload of money to create a superior org that could overtake the abc groups. Doesn't seem very likely as things stand, but who knows.

You don't know lightweight or light welterweight champions seriously not even one?

Basically, you'd need to get an organisation together who got all the fighters on board...... If none of the fighters valued the sanctioning body titles then they would soon disappear...

Option A - a high net worth individual (we're talking a billionaire) sets up a promotional company, slowly but surely signs up all the world's elite fighters, creating a UFC style situation where all the top fighters are under the same promotional banner (creating clarity with the best fighting the best).

Option B - a worldwide boxers' union is set up, and takes the power away from the promoters by setting up some kind of year round World Tour where elite fighters are guaranteed a certain amount of fights/earnings per annum, with prize money on top (like the ATP in tennis or the PGA in golf).

They will not go away whilst fighters, promoters, media and broadcasters value them.....

I think you've misunderstood. I think he's saying there is only one champ in a division, and it has nothing to do with the sanctioning bodies, but that he can't work out who it should be in those divisions. Ward is easy to identify at super middle, because he's fought and beaten most everyone, but whilst you might name all the lightweight champs, there's very little evidence in terms of them fighting each other to identify who is "the man"

Cmon Mark Cuban (he's a billionaire right?) don't you see all the money to be made if you got all the best boxers under one roof?

The Ring titles seem to be gaining in popularity with the fighters themselves, even if the public remains skeptical of the GBP link.

I know every world champion, in every weight division and their record from 1995 if that helps?

Used to be the gold standard but I can't see how they can be taken seriously since they changed their championship policy last year. I'd say the TBRB are the best rankings around at the moment, but lack any kind of profile.
