Sakio Bika fighting for the WBC

Sakio Bika is fighting this weekend for the WBC against Marco Antonio Periban. This is because Ward is in Emeritus status or some sh*t apparently. Whatever, I like Sakio and have done ever since I watched him give Calzaghe a hard time. I think Calzaghe had it so easy with Lacy he thought he'd just walk through this Cameroonian he'd never heard of and Sakio, in losing, bust Joe up. I think he gave Ward a good fight too (I watched the fight with Bute and I don't really remember much, but I think Bute had the easiest time with him out of the three 'elite' fighters he lost to, but I could be wrong) and I think he's earned the chance to hold a world title, even a paper one, and I think Froch-Bika is a cool fight for a unification if Froch can't get Ward or Jnr. Sakio is a good scalp on anybody's record and is an underrated fighter. He'd kill George Groves or Degale. Hey, I even think he'd bust up Stieglist. He's just a hard dude.
Does anyone know much about Periban? I've never heard of him let alone seen him fight. Is Bika a favorite in this? This is a great card, with Mallinagi-Broner (I kind of think Paulie is going to do better than people think... While losing), the Mitchell-Banks rematch and this fight too. I wish I could go.
Anyway, any interest in this? Or is it just me?

I'll keep an eye on this too. I don't know anything about Periban apart from he scraped an MD over a guy George Groves KO'd albeit after coming through a bit of adversity with the cut. So I'd assume Bika will be a favourite.
I remember him a few years back demolishing Jean Paul Mendy but getting DQd because he KOd him when he was on the floor or on the break or something.

Enjoyable fight but both fighters lack quality. The fact that Sakio Bika is now WBC world champion shows that there are far too many 'world champions' in boxing.

Is Seth Mitchell's trainer hoping for a spot in P-Diddy's next rap video with that cap?

Bika is not easy for anyone. He is a guaranteed hard twelve rounds for them all.

I think it'd be a good fight. Froch is unikely to stop Bika so it'll be a tear up. Fun fight last night too. I made it to the end of Mitchell Banks and then I fell asleep during the ring walk for Broner. I remember a terrible rapper rapping out of time and then nothing.

This was a poor fight in terms of quality. Both gassed badly in the last few rounds. Bika as always was rough and wild. The top 12 stoners will be looking at this fight saying I can do better than that?

Definitely, but nobody will look good in doing it against Bika.

That rapper was awful and the dancing thing and the teeth - just terrible; some people need their heads looking at, (isn't that your job clopixolacuphase?)

It reminded me of Bika's final fight when he won the Contender, where Bika and the other guy (I forget his name) threw a boxing match out of the window and just went at it, in an entertaining fight that made them both look terrible. I couldn't believe it was the same Sakio Bika I watched before. When Bika goes for the KO he goes swinging from the hills and he doesn't have enough power when he lands to do the job and gets clocked doing it, looking really messy. When he fights better fighters (Calzaghe, Ward, Bute) he ups his game a bit more and doesn't look as ragged.

Not seen it how would Groves or Degale do against him ??

It would be good fight with either Groves or DeGale. I'd say DeGale has the better style to beat Bika, if he keeps to his boxing. Groves has more power, but Bika has a great chin, and Groves likes to mix it up so could get caught.
I'd pay to go and watch either fight though xx

You want a diagnosis for Broner? You could make a case for narcissistic personality disorder:

It's not really treatable. Broner would spend most of his days at my place in a seclusion room I can tell you that now!

Yeah, that guy. I just looked him up on Boxrec. Both fighters down in the first round! I don't remember that. I will have to Youtube that fight.

he does love himself just a little bit too much; if he was in a seclusion room would the moon and stars continue to orbit him though? I'd hope so

Bika is a handful for any super mid. He gave ward a tougher fight than froch and he also gave calzaghe a hell of a fight.
