Who's your favourite or best journeyman. There's a little conversation on twitter at the moment.obviously this interests me.theres a few journeymen that are like watching paint dry. But others like miekle and myself that went out to entertain.my best days are well and truly over.but I still have enough in me to reach my goal of 100. Who do you boys rate as the top men at there job.

Your up there with the best of them Johnny .

I like Kristian Laight too with all his sticking his tounge out and stuff , makes things a little more entertaining .

Andy Hardy has a real go in all of his fights , id like to see him go in with another journeyman as i think he deserves to get a win under his belt .

Ryan Clarke but hes beginning to shake the Journeyman tag now , hes a tough kid .

As for who i dont like , i think Billy Smith on the occasions ive seen him just covers up too much , offers no resistance , not sure if thats always the case with him but has been on the bouts ive seen him in .

Id say you, jody and Ryan Clarke are the 3 best (don't know if ryan boxes anymore)

A light heavy journeyman I've watched fight live twice doesn't even throw any punches at all - at least try and win a round

Macho , i get what your saying .

But.... Theres always going to be guys who lose , even if it wasnt a case of being a journeyman officially , they would still exist .

The promoters want to protect their investment and develop their careers so they will choose guys who they believe their prospects will beat , makes sense if someones shifting tickets that they are looked after to an extent until they get to a point in time in which a loss wont hurt them . if someone isnt winning very often theyll be the ones chosen , regardless of the journeyman tag .

To be fair id imagine being a journeyman at heavyweight is fairly well paid , so i suppose he doesnt want to lose that income , but ive not seen him box for a couple of years so i cant really agree or disagree with what youve said.

Along with Johnny Greaves, I like Syd Razzack and obviously Peter Buckley was a legend.

If you want a journeyman who has a real go, Mark McKray is the best.

Mark McCray is dangerous if he fancies it, I also like watching Pavel senkos I think his name is, super feather, always comes for a fight, game as they come

Agree mate, I feel that 'favourite journeyman' is a daft thing anyway, it's certainly not a title I would want, everything I enter into I do so with a winning mentality, if I was there just to make up the numbers and get a payday I'd give up.

This twitter debate all started when that bellend Deakin proclaimed he was the best journeyman out there, its not a debate that need to be continued IMO

I think robin did start all that on twitter.for me Sid Razack , miekle & Kristian take some beating.i know us boys ain't to everyone's liking but we are needed.

I have seen all of you and don't think any of you try to win like McKray.

Mine too. He knew the score a bit too much though! If there was no chance at all of winning he would do very little, if there was a chance he would have a go. He was at his best when fighting local lads, as if he had a point to prove.

He got a bit tubby in the end as well didn't he, faced some real good opponents though.

Hes not the best but i like Wee Ryan McNicol always has a go. Lost 25 or something but only stopped once, and that was on cuts. He's got bad scar tissue and cuts almost everytime he's out. When Rasak fancies it he is useful.

Jodie Meikle is a tough fella, always entertains, and throws some leather back, yourself at times are in some good ones, but it's a tough weight division, Kristian Laigh always comes in shape, and I'm sure could win more if he wanted, but as we know the work would dry up. Sid Razak on occasions can entertain, Delroy Spencer knows how to survive but is not as competitive as he was. I like Billy Smith, he's a tough guy, as is Mark McKay, but overall fans want to see more competitive fights. I do think there is a need for journeymen, I know novice pro's learn a lot in some of these fights, but feel anyone who is a prospect and has had 10+ fights, should be fighting similar level opponents and not going over old ground fighting journeymen. 2 more Johnny then hang them up and have a rest. I would like to see you get a competitive match up for your 100th, that you have a chance of winning. Good luck.

Oh mate ! I myself would love too see more competitive fights.all the blame can't be put on managers.theres loads of fighters that want to pick & choose their matches.one things for sure.if every fighter had the balls of most journeymen there would be plenty more good fights.too my memory , I've never turned down a fight because the opponent is too good/hardhitting.a journeyman prize fighter a couple of years ago would've been fantastic.we woulda fought our hearts out.i still think I coulda won but that's another story, haha

Johnny is entertaining; I used to like to watch Buckley, particularly when he threw and landed a good combination - that man was a very capable fighter; is that man Spitko still boxing? He were a bit of a journeyman but could punch and got stuck in; he seemed to enjoy it as well.

I'm the best! We might not have the most talent but don't doubt our balls and toughness

He had a hot streak for a while there. I guess if he'd trained harder he could have won a lot more fights.

Johnny I hope you didn't think I was having a go at you or any other journeymen, I know what you bring to the sport, and know that you are needed. I also liked the idea of a journeymen prizefighter, just not sure if it would sell, good luck Johnny it's a tough sport!
