Gavin points if he can stay out of trouble, if he gets sucked into a tear up could end up with vassell stoppage though

I agree with Gazmac. If Gavin can box to his ability then id pick him on point. We dont really know how good his chin is yet though so I think some questions will be answered on saturday.

I think Frankie takes him out late on after wearing Vassell down.

I think vassell is very under rated and is a big puncher there will be a shock in this one

I think it's a fight that will tell us how good Gavin is, and whether he can compete at world level.

If Gavin is in the sort of shape vs Woodhouse, Vassell points

Vassell is a really decent strong boxer, I think Gavin is going to have a lot of trouble here. As mentioned already I'm not sure how good Gavin's whiskers are but we are about to find out.

Gavin looks to be growing into the weight; he never really looked a full welter to me but his last bout he looked pretty strong. I think Frankie will win on points but will really know he's been in a fight. Both men come across really well and I can imagine Denton getting frozen out if he loses; he doesn't get anywhere near enough bouts. I think it'll be a very good bout; Vassell is tough and skilled, if he wins big things ought to open up for him.

I see Vassell winning this reasonably comfortably.
Frankie has never shown me anything as a pro to make him favourite vs Denton.

a little bird I spoke to, who doesn't heap praise on many boxers bar one in particular, speaks very highly of Vassell, who he has seen quite a lot of in sparring.
I *think* Gavin's best is good enough to win this, but I don't think even his best version beats Vassell easily.

I doubt he'd make that mistake again, he seems more settled now he's moved back to Birmingham and is closer to the level people expected him to reach when he turned pro, even though he should have been British champion a year ago if things had gone to plan.

I've just bought tickets. Going along with former Gavin opponent Tijuana1. Supporting Frankie and think he will win on points.

Vassell had for an interesting interview in this weeks Boxing News. His full-time day job is working in a bank! I suspect he will be out skilled in this fight. Gavin admits in BN that he will have to be at his best though.

Good. I think Vassel is made for him and he could put on an exhibition. It's Frankie's time to shine now.

Quite fancy Vassell to win this.
I've watched Gavin v Woodhouse, and Curtis gave him kittens. I can see Denton fighting a similar kind of fight, only he has a better skill set the Curtis in my opinion. Denton will make Frankie work every minute of every round and if Denton can see out 12 rounds with Lee Purdy then Gavin ain't going to be stopping him.

If your going on the Woodhouse fight, your probably right. Most of us are expecting a much better Gavin tomorrow night.

Too close to call for me but the one telling factor might be Denton's inactivity having only one fight in 2012. I think he may take a while to get going but he's a good pressure fighter, is very fit, loves a tear up and can bang a bit and against Gavin who is technically a very good boxer I think this could be a great blend of styles. A lot of people were expecting big things from Vassell and this might just be the fight that get's him back on the road to the big time.
Really is a 50/50 fight for me and I might be tempted to throw a few quid on the draw :??

I'm really looking forward to this. I think Denton can do it, he has the man-strength, power and under-rated skills to pull this one off against a skilful but possibly over-rated Gavin.
A real intriguing battle, I take Vassell to outwork Gavin and out-man him to take a tough and close points decision.

The Boxing News interview with Denton was very good; he really comes across as a likable man and Frankie seems a good lad; it is a very close thing, very well matched, I hope the loser isn't left on the sidelines for ages and the winner really cracks on.
