*cough* well, it's funny how the most prestigious, highest quality fight seems to be getting overshadowed by some over-hyped fraud's exposure, but that's the nature of the game

Nah, I always liked Wlad's boxing skills, and obviously a defeat doesn't change that. I've always felt they were sharper and more rounded than his brother Vitali's. He seems to be missing a couple pieces of the jigsaw that makes real champions though. Good technical boxing ability, a clever mind, obvious physical attributes, are all let down by an apparent lack of stamina (maybe heart) and a shaky chin.

Also, ever notice how brainy people tend to get brained when they face somebody hungry who is ready to fight? And this is maybe clutching at straws to find a reason for Wlad's stamina/chin woes, but do you think his 'sparra legs' have anything to do with it? I've noticed people with skinny legs tend to be drained and go down more easily than guys sporting tree trunks (like Tyson, Tua).

And from what I've read the 'knockout' seems to have had a semi-strange, nearly OTT effect on Wlad. And he was taken for a brain scan immediately after the fight on the advice of Dr. Maggie. It's maybe not best to throw things like this into the wild, but maybe Wlad was the heavyweight Atlas was talking about?

Yes, we brought this up in the general boxing forum too. Wlad may well indeed, be the person Atlas was referring too.

Is Wlad's career as a top level Heavyweight over before it really began? I think so and it is perhaps a mental thing as much as anything else. I didn't see the fight but Wlad appears chin shot and mentally shot as well, he will never become the divisions saviour that is for sure...watching him beat up Byrd, McCine and Mercer now seems all in the very distant memory

I think he basically collapsed into the ropes at the end of the round Bennie, punched himself out after he had Brewster in trouble. Am eager to see this fight just to see exactly what happened.

Can't see Wlad returing to top level after another KO loss. Hes had a good run and a Gold medal.

Lets hope he has invested his ring earnings well and he can build a life outside the Boxing ring.

Totally agree, Wlad is over now as a top level fighter, given the nature of the Heavyweight division though at the moment he can come again and probably will but his chin is shot and he has a serious stamina problem (see Ross Puritty), it's a shame as the division needed him to win to add some continuity but this loss indicates the sad state it finds itself in at present.

Boxingtalk.net are reporting that Klitschko was sick going into the fight.

I just think he was too eager, got tired and then got caught. He isn't as good as many believed and its now up to his brother to help out the HV division or else its gonna head back to the dark ages.

There does seem to be a lot of talk floating around Cyberspace at the moment about Wlad.

Wlad's a diabetic.
Wlad's suffering from the effect of steriod abuse from when he was growing up in the Ukraine.
Wlad took too much medication for his pre-fight nerves.

Of course from what I've read non of this has been confirmed.

Bullshit.

They and many other sources are reporting that he had high blood sugar levels going in, possibly suggesting that he has diabetes. If that's the case then it's his own problem, Brewster won fair and square.

Will Wlad fight on? If he does, would FW cough up to get Danny Williams in with him?
