Watched an interview of his from yesterday on Ifilm. Seems a genuinely nice man! Also when listening to him in the corner he seems very good at assessing what's going on at a given time. I think he has the potential to be a top trainer! What do you chaps think?

Gary is a class act, I've met him a few times and the laddie is brilliant. Really think he has a bright future of him as a trainer aswell, it's good to see a former boxer pass over there experience

He seemed pretty responsible in Rees' corner during the broner fight, which I was impressed with given the magnitude of the fight. Look forward to seeing more

Yeah I agree. He seemed to recognise the fact that Rees wasnt quite on Broner's level and also that he didnt have the power to turn the fight around even if he was losing. Smart move I think.

I like how he comes across, I used to look for his results when he was an amateur. In every interview I've read he's come across really well he is intelligent and considers things before he speaks. I think he'll continue to do well and the look of Rees' body at the weigh in speaks volumes, for Lockett' methods and Gavins new attitude.

Il be honest, I never really rated Enzo Calzaghe as a trainer. I know he did great thing with Joe but I think that was Joe being naturally talented as much as anything! Half the time i struggled to understand what the hell he was saying haha.

Gary is a sound bloke, one of the best. I was however shocked when he became a trainer, I'd never spoken to a boxer with less interest in the sport in general (about 6 years ago).

Maybe he got into it more when he wasnt so focussed on his own career you know! Maybe the hard training, etc had put him off the sport somewhat.

Yeh could be. I just remember that he was very clear about not following the sport and how he would rather going out for a meal than to a show. He definitely seems different now.
