Don't mind him as a pundit to be honest. Just not Ringside.

I thought they made an error by telling us Glen fancied Crolla, i felt a sence of his commentry, and his ridiculous 5 round scorecard margin, totaly biased!

While I'm not a particular fan, the fact is that Nelson isn't even the worst on sky. Is Jame Moore better? Yes, but he's also better than the majority of pundits on all channels.

The combination of Lillis, Bunce, and Thompson on Friday night almost had me longing for Sky. The usp for BN was that it wasn't as a stuffy a format as skys, but the three of them talking on Friday would have bored the anus off a monkey.

The problem is and this is the same for most sports that they pick the talking heads based solely on the fact that they participated in the sport and won a title of some sort rather than knowing anything about it from an analytical point of view. They just spend the time spouting endless cliches and inane waffle, a man who's never had a professional bout but knows boxing inside out as an analyst would do a better job than most of them.

I have thought that before. Some very good boxers don't follow the sport at all. I got the impression Joshua didn't even know who GGG was on Ringside and just winged it. Some are very good, though. Paul Smith for example is outstanding,

Can't say I've noticed Smith but I quite like Jamie Moore and Jon Thaxton was good on ITV a few years ago too, most are out of there depth though and the viewers are fooled because it will say in a caption "Glenn McCrory - Former World Cruiserweight Champion" and makes people think "Oh he must know what he's on about" I've seen people on this forum and others who would do a better job.

Yup, I agree. Paul Smith is very good as is Jim Watt. Nelson is also fine, to be truthful. I don't have an issue with him at all.

There plenty worse than him, both on BN and SKY.

I like Johnny he is knowledgeable comes across well IMO.
The gloves off special he did recently with collins calzaghe eubank and co was well chaired yes he makes a few mistakes but he is better than Glenn .
I find Adam Smith far more annoying.

I think its because its a personality thing and you know that most people quite enjoy watching Johnny or are'nt that bothered by him.

I like him; he is experienced and still watches the sport; he is a impressive figure and deserves his job.

Stick Nigel Benn on there and Lennox Lewis.

Come off it, he knew he was, the name just escaped him. I follow boxing religously but I bumped into one particular champion who is well known in my local town centre and while speaking to him, I kept calling him by the first name of another boxer with the same surname. I did it about five times. It happens.

I like Nelson on Saturday night when he can be himself, but agreed on Ringside - with auto cue - he's hard to watch.
