Well, Froch said he'd fight Groves if it was ordered. So there you go. I personally like this fight and you can guarantee if it happens it'll be another PPV that Eddie loves.

I think it'll be close for a few rounds but Froch will grind groves down in the later rounds for a stoppage win.

Same here. A champ taking on a still unproven on world level mando does not a PPV make.

Why? For the fans?! Haye-Fury could have you versus Horse as chief support and still do huge numbers. Froch-Groves will do well on its own too.

I'm not buying a Pay-Per-View purely to see Haye smack Fury about the ring. That's an obvious win for Haye. (But then so was the Haye win over Chisora, and that ended up being entertaining for the five rounds it lasted.)

I'd consider ordering Froch vs Groves, despite Froch being the overwhelming favourite for this.

If both were a PPV, I'd definitely buy it. But let's be realistic. These two fights won't be on the same card.

A Hearn/Hennessy crossover PPV would be good

Haye v Fury
Froch v Groves
DeGale v Eubank Jr
Quigg v Kid Galahad

Don't see how Eubank Jr is ready for Degale, especially one back in form after a knee injury. Froch would surely expose Grove's chin.

Froch is a more elite fighter than Haye and Fury has beat more top ten guys than Groves, so, on paper, Froch-Groves is a bigger mismatch. I can't even make a case for George winning that fight. Froch is completely wrong for him.

Excellent match up, in theory, and while not PPV worthy, I wouldn't want to miss it.

Though Booth will no doubt have Groves boxing to orders like he did in the DeGale fight - safety first, stay away for mixing it with Froch and pick up the points. He could well win it that way, though it might be boring. If he mixes it with Froch he has no chance at all...

Look at the way Froch cut the ring down against Bute - no way Groves will be able to keep off a marauding Froch for the whole 12.

That's true, though Bute was very much like a deer in the headlights. I was thinking about that slick American who kept Froch guessing for 12 rounds

If they do PPV for this then the undercard would have to be one of the best ever as this is not PPV worthy, no way. Really pees me off as I only buy sky for the boxing and to then have to fork out again is just a load of crap

Andre Dirrell? He has elite skill level, Groves doesn't.

Slightly too soon for Groves in my opinion.

I would have liked George to have a couple of stern tests before Froch, because fighters like Noe Gonzales is certainly no preparation. Groves has skills and power, but lacks experience on how to pace himself against someone like Carl. A combination of nerves and not pacing himself right, would see him unravel after the half-way point and he will walk onto a heavy shot.

Another consideration - if Matchroom don't tie up a deal for this fight - then anyone could bid for this fight as it will be thrown out for purse bids.

You could see allegedly or Channel Five throw their bid into the hat.

i'd like to see this. groves made headlines vs degale proving his discipline in a 12 rounder. he's got the world ranking, he's the mando, so it stops the IBF from getting in the way of any other good fights along the way. groves is an olympic medallist and froch a world champion, so the fight has pedigree and will build anticipation.

It's a good fight, but it's not PPV material.

Groves is a much improved fighter in the last 24 months, his feeled out nicely and deserves a shot ! I wouldn't put money on him to win but I think it's a closer fight than some are suggesting, Froch has had a lot of wars and isn't getting any younger ! Would love to see it, but a massive British bust up like this probably makes the ppv shcedule Unfortunatly

What was it Barry Hearn said in his last interview, something like "a PPV is only appropriate when the fight couldn't be made otherwise". By their own rule Matchroom should put this on normal Sky.

I am a big gutted this happens now to be honest. I wanted to see it next summer, I think Groves needed that time to get the big fights in, and Froch could have had a blockbuster in-between.

Maybe, but Groves certainly beats Dirrell in the heart and punch departments. Whatever happens, he'll probably be able to land cleanly on Froch at some point, and as we saw in the Smith fight, he hits hard enough to get anyone's respect...

Yep good point ! Boxing promoters have very short memories ! (when they need to at least)
It might not be ppv, I'm just guessing, the fight has to happen first
