Possibly the longest, cheesiest, cringeworthy intro-sequence EVER to a non-world title fight!

It's always find it slightly amusing when people play Born in the USA as rah-rah patriotic anthem. If you listen to the whole song it's really the antithesis of a glory, glory USA song.

Drummers at the first fight and some chap singing Ferry Cross The Mersey in the ring made for much piss taking then too

It's about the hardship and outcasting faced by US troops upon their return from Vietnam, basically how their country crapped on them.

sir Steve bounce OBE said we were in for something "pretty unique and special" ( or words to that effect, I was pissed and can't quite recall).

He wasn't wrong. One of the best hours of TV for quite some time. So bad it was good. Fight was good but seemed stuck on slow motion replay throughout, and as for "save Mrs Thompson"....speechless.

I even saw bunce with lump in his throat after Maloney broke down.
