Feel so sorry for the guy. I hope he gives up the promotion game for the sake of his health and enjoys life. We all give the promoters stick but nobody wants to see that.

Yep, fairly sad alright. For the sake of his health and his family he should pack it in. He has been through a lot over the past few years with the passing of Darren Sutherland, his own cardiac problems and his reported financial problems so it's bound to take it's toll. I think he knows this was probably his last big promotion. He said himself that he has invested all his money in Price and I think it would be too big a gamble to start chasing those losses with a guy who is clearly not going to earn him enough cash in the ring to make that money back.

Stupid of him to try to deflect the blame onto Lennox somehow. Lennox worked with him for a few weeks. His bad habbits have far more to do with the clown who's been teaching him for the past 5 years or more.

If a man can take a heart attack at an English heavyweight title fight it does not bode well.

I would have thought he could have retired after his stint with Lennox.

I feel for the guy, he is obviously in a very bad place and when you rack up the things that have happened in the last few years plus his health issues, it's probably best for him to step out of the firing line and take a proper break or retire. Promoting can be a lonely business, I don't like all this 'he's a prick', Maloney has put on some great shows and was a really good small hall promoter for a long time supporting the British boxing scene. Time to stop living the highs and lows as it's worrying now as he looks like he can't take it much more.

didn't make for great viwing breaking down on TV like that, he looked a broken man.

he is just a selfish little man and is now reaping his reward for shitting on countless fighters over the years anyone who disagrees with this has either never dealt with him or is on his pay role

As a fan I guess I'm unqualified to comment on dealing with the man!

Id feel bad for most people in that situation. Seeing someone break down in tears isnt pleasant unless you're a psychopath. I wouldnt say im a huge fan of Maloneys by any stretch but that was sad to see.

Every time I've met Frank he's been very welcoming, polite and approachable. The likes of Munroe and the Shinfields won't say a bad word about Frank despite the fact that Munroe changed promoters. From my personal experience with the 'top' British promoters I would say Frank is the most approachable and down to earth. That's merely my opinion.

I agree. He seems to have demons. The way he broke down was not pleasant viewing. Sure we can all dislike people for past digressions however I think Maloney seriously needs help. Remember this guy has a family. I would hate to see my Dad, or my partner, in this kind of state.

To be honest, I don't really feel sorry for Maloney, I feel really sorry for Price. He's a genuinely decent guy whose confidence is probably shot to pieces due to Maloney's match making. To go from very average British opposition to genuinely world class opposition and a southpaw in one fell swoop is poor. I wouldn't be surprised if Price knocks it on the head now, which would be a shame as he had a lot to offer.

BTW, Mrs Thompson seems like she's in for a entertaining evening - hope she's a game girl

Lennox's gameplan, Frank says he didn't want the rematch and other statements being made....

The reality is that he was moved up at 15 fights and put simply, he wasn't ready and it was a step too far. Then going straight back into the fight again was foolish if people believed it was a "fluke" punch.

Thompson was simply too seasoned and could see Price gassing, so he let him work himself out and then stepped up his own attacks until he shut him down in the corner.

The questions about his chin were always there, but now people saw him quit and fall apart without going down too. Thompson basically beat him wtih a completely different approach tonight.

Price is such a classy individual, but it's hard to forecast where he can go from here, as people have now seen two ways to overcome him. He might end up as cannon fodder for Hughie Fury or Derek Chisora - or he might reinvent himself and rebuild back like Wladimir did too. But in all honesty, I don't see it unfortunately - as much as I'd like him too.

I agree, poor old Frank has had some tough times in boxing and with his health as well.
