What happens if the unthinkable does happen....Tyson wins??

It would almost defy the laws of science if he does.....I wouldn't know what to say or do for a week. I think I would probably stop commenting on here and never predict a fight ever again.

Fury's ego would certainly be as big as his bank balance.

He would have women flocking to his gypsy love length.

He would be Britain's only hope as the next HW sensation so help me God.

Is anyone out there actually backing Fury whole heartedly? I'd love to hear from a genuine boxing fan who thinks this is fight will definitely be won by Fury......

If Fury boxes like he did against Kingpin Johnson - he stands a very good chance in my opinion.

IF Fury wins (and I don't think he will) I reckon there would be a big money rematch.

It's not impossible, but unlikely, but he could win if:

Haye doesn't bomb him out as quickly as everyone seems to think
He uses his jab, something he's not really shown so far, but Haye has had problems with in previous fights
He goes southpaw and confuses Haye a little
Haye gasses after 5-6 rounds
He out-works Haye beyond 3-4 rounds, Haye doesn't have the greatest workrate beyond the mid-point

Phone call distracted me from the other line of reasoning I had.

I think i'm giving a better chance of Tyson Fury than most here.

I see it as 60/40 in favour of Haye ... just based on the fact that I think we'll see the best version of Tyson Fury (better defense), and that, excluding Audley, Haye has struggled against the other two tall heavyweights he has fought previously.

I'm guessing the average person on the forum sees it as 80/20 ... and the casual fans see it as 90/10.

Nobody can say for definite that either Haye or Fury will win.

Both boxers fancy the job and hopefully if they both come to fight (I am sure that Fury will but not so sure about Haye) then it should be a great fight.

I don't think Fury would win, but if he does then it could be good for British boxing. And the re-making of Hennessey.

it was the Gods of Boxing, reminding you that Haye's going to win

True, true. I think it was along the lines of Haye's relative inactivity but then I had a vision of Bambi on ice and everything was ok again.

The only way I see Haye losing is through absence in the ring. You have to go for Haye as Fury hasn't shown anything to suggest he can handle a top 3 ranked fighter. Realistically its a one horse race If this was in america it would be laughed at by the boxing public. Saying that Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson so you can't dismiss Fury. I haven't seen anything that makes me think Fury can stop Haye, but as ive said Haye is a little older and will not have fought in 13 months, had a crappy loss to Vlad and blasted out Harrison almost 3 years ago so Fury has a chance. While Haye has fought premier league, Fury has been in League 1.

For me I think Haye will win inside 3 rounds, and I mean 1,2 or the 3rd. If Fury can keep him off for further Haye could blow out and be stopped but I don't think it will last beyond the 3rd round

This is a very live bout; Haye has better power and Price hits harder than Thompson, look what happened there. Power is not the most important thing and what if Hayes back (or hand or toe) goes again? :OhYes:

If Haye catches Fury clean he will go down - and not get up.
If Fury spoils, gets in close, lays on him etc then maybe Fury can pull a points decision.
One thing I do think for sure is that I can't see Fury stopping Haye.
I don't think it's "unthinkable" for Fury to win.

If he can take Hayes best shots he can win, IMO he will be knocked out.

If Fury doesn't go all guns blazing he wins with his jab. (Huge IF)

I tend to agree with this. If Peter Fury can make Tyson box to a plan - like he did against Kingpin Johnson - i can easily imagine him keeping Haye doing his prowly crouch thing and not much else for 4 or so consecutive rounds. If he can do it for 4 it's possible he could do it for 12 considering how much better workrate he has.
If he grabs and leans everytime Haye gets close and doesn't try to take him out he could do it. It's hard to imagine him not being caught with something fight-changing at some point but i think 60/40 or 65/35 is about right.

Now if he does win i can imagine he'll be immediately served up to Wlad then get beaten and commence to take on Wlad's leftovers from recent years.

fury is not a cultured enough fighter to keep haye at bay with his jab. and haye is far too intelligent and live to let him. if fury tries to fight like he did against johnston he's wasting his time cos haye wouldnt be content to go down to a lazy points defeat to such a green opponent...he will pressure him into making mistakes, or or open up his defence. if haye can land on you he can hurt you and tyson fury is certainly no floyd mayweather...its not so many fights ago that his defence was so leaky and technique so poor. that he was hitting himself.

IF Fury wins he will avoid Wlad until 2015.

Povetkin avoided K2 for about 3 years Tyson could also!

He could certainly wait and improve, train toward being able to beat him; that would be sensible enough in my eyes. Povetkin is due to get in v Wlad later this year isn't he?
