A titleholder! Like he has been due to fight for the last three years or so with all these eliminators and final eliminators!

Well I was thinking if he cant get one of those guys straight away. He's not going to get a shot at Broner, Marquez, Mayweather or even Alexander at the moment as he's tied up with possibly fighting Khan.

If he's fighting in late September, a lot of the big names are tied up.

Golden Boy want to make Maidana vs Broner so they're out really. Berto won't fight two months after Karass against a live opponent like Brook. Same as Thurman with Chaves. Guerrero and Ortiz look like they're getting it on this year. Alexander looks like he's facing Khan in December. Shane Mosley wants too much money according to Hearn. Malignaggi is retiring to the commentary box for a while. Alvarado looks like he's facing Provodnikov

In terms of 'name' fighters which Hearn wants, the one's that are really available are Lopez, Bailey, Van Heerden or possibly Mike Jones in a comeback fight.

I think it's reasonably sized if.
That said he really ought to go over and fight a name in the states, go over and stand Maidana on his head in New York.
Then Alexander after he's beaten Khan.

The top of the welter division is strong; it's hard to pick an 'easy' bout; though Paulie wouldn't be able to keep Brook off; the champions are all very good, the top contenders are serious business and maybe wouldn't want to travel.

I can imagine that's easier said than done.

If he can't get a shot at one of the top guys then someone like Robert Guerrero would be a good test and a good enough name. failing that Marcos Maidana would be a good scrap and a fight Kell would win and look good doing it against the crude, come forward Maidana.

The names available dont exactly excite me I have to say! Lopez could possibly put up a good showing, Bailey always has a punchers chance because he really can whack but for large portions of fights he hardly does anything! Van Heerden I think is pretty shite to be honest. Mike Jones isnt a bad fighter even though he got knocked out by Bailey. The Mosley fight really doesnt interest me I have to say. Mosley is well past his sell by date now and is what 41/42?!

I'd like Brook to fight whatever demons he has that are holding him back.

I know he's a big puncher but to me his style is reminiscent of a tortoise trying to turn itself over.

Senchenko would be a good scalp and a well known name here.

Senchenko is known for beating a completely shot worn and been out of the ring for 3 and half years Ricky Hatton. He got his head boxed off by Malignaggi aswell.

That isnt what im saying Horse. Im saying it's not a good opponent in terms of Brook proving he's a top welter.

He's fighting in Ukraine on the 24th of August as well so it's doubtful. Could be persuaded to come over to the UK though.

Brook is currently rated 1 by the IBF and 8 by the WBO and out of the top 15 with WBA and WBC, a fight and a win v Ed Paredes - ranked 3 with the WBA and WBC would surely put Brook in the higher echelons with all the governing bodies and in good position for a world title shot.

It's not going to prove doubters wrong though.

It's not about proving doubters wrong - it's about getting a ranking, getting a world title fight and ultimately winning awolrd title and then going on to defend it and look to unify the divsion. (That doesn't mean I think Kel is capable of unifying - but my opinion of what every boxers aim should be)

Well it is about proving doubters wrong to a degree because if you're seen as being a protected fighter you wont get the opportunity to fight in the biggest money fights and fans will get bored and stop watching.

If you pick your fights well and move yourself up the rankings and closer to a world title then the big money fights will follow - providing you have the right promotonional team

Who's he going to fight though? Marquez holds the WBO belt, Mayweather the WBC, Alexander the IBF and Broner the WBA. I cant see him getting a shot at any of those bar Alexander in the near future.

A win over the Ed Paredes would move him closer to the mandatory position with the WBC and WBA, so if the champs don't want to fight him he could get the chance to fight for a vacant title.

Agree a fight with Marquez (or Bradley depending on how the fight in Oct goes) looks unlikely and it would be early next year at the earliest.

Broner could be dropping back down to Light-Welter so again a challenge for a vacant title wouldn't be a million miles away if this did happen.

The Mayweather fight may not be as unlikely as it seems - if he beats Canelo and Kel has a lofty ranking with WBC, he's already stated he wants a mega fight in the UK before he retires, and Mayweather v anybody would be a megafight in the UK.

He's still ranked number 1 by the IBF so could fight the winner of the proposed Alexander v Khan fight.

He just needs to put himself in a position to force the champs to either fight him or vacate.

Rubber match with Jones if he loses?

Has to be a champion or top contender.
