Watching the selby fight the opponent has a sponsors logo painted on his back. Never seen this before wondering why more fighters dont do this im sure there could be some really cool ones. Is there a rule about it?

If you watch fights from places like the Czech republic you'll see it all the time.

In Thailand the Thai's hold up sponsors boards before fights which strikes me as weirder.

I've seen it a few times - one of the lads in last weeks prizefighter and Katsidis always used to have GoldenPalace Casino or something like that.

It's not new to be honest. I remember Ben Tackie having sponsorship when he fought Kostya Tzsyu - that was more than 10 years ago.

Its uncommon though - the best one was when Julius Francis had the Daily Mirror on the soles of his boots when he fought Tyson!!!

Wasn't Katsidis' an actual tattoo of a sun?

Lukasz Konecny always did it, Chagaev too.

Julius Francis had logos on the soles of his boots for the Tyson fight, I think it was advertising The Sun.

They did it in Germany on Universum cards a few years back too. Thought it was funny when Sven Ottke had the condom brand 'condomi' on his back for one fight. His fights were so boring I reckon a lot of male German viewers would shout 'Martha, forget the boxing, you are getting it' after the 4th boring Ottke round.

Bernard Hopkins had that ad on his back when he fought Trinidad in 2001, so 12 years ago. I remember there was a bit of a controversy at the time, because I believe it was against HBO policy or something.

I guess it remained because, well, who is going to go convince Bernard Hopkins that he's losing money and taking it off his back?

"Fvck it, I quit, no job is worth this."

Somebody had GoldenPalace.com shaved into the back of their head some years back. Could have been Junior Witter, not sure though.

I'm no fan of advertising but I have no problem with boxers earning a little extra by having something painted on themselves.

That one that Abraham had vs Elcock looked pretty striking but the Smurf outfit will be fresh in the mind forever.

It's against BBBOC rules. It's looks ridiculous. But fire away if that's what you want.
