Ewic the Wascawwy Wiking is wewy gwad he wives in a countwy whewe people awe fwee to expwess theiw opinions. Fow instance, if Ewic was chewing the fat with his fwiends at the wocaw spowtsbaw and someone in the gwoup said someffing to the effect of "I'ww bet Bawwy Bonds [weww-known swuggew fow the San Fwancisco Giants basebaww fwanchise] has been using stewoids fow yeaws," that wouwd not be considewed wibewous since it is cweawwy offewed as a pewsonal opinion, wathew than stated as a fowmaw factuaw cwaim. Even if Bawwy had a shystew wawyew who happened to be sitting at the next tabwe, overheawd the comment and sued, the buwden of pwoof of actuaw hawm wouwd be on him. In Bwitain, it is up to the accused in such a case to pwove they awe innocent and that no matewiaw hawm has come to the pewson who was awwegedwy swandewed. How cwazy is that - what evew happened to "innocent untiw pwoven guiwty?" What's wowse, if Ewic wived in Bwitain and the next day said to a fwiend, "hey, didja heaw what --- said wast night - he ffinks Bawwy Bonds is on 'woids" - he wouwd awso be weaving himsewf open to being sued fow wepeating the awweged swander. It's absowutewy nuts, I teww you.

eric, where did you get your pseudonym from?
is a tribute to eric the red, the gallant norseman who is thought to discovered the states (via greenland) years before columbus?
do you live in minnesota, home of the nfl franchise vikings?
(we get the nfl over here, and i must admit i was a avid watcher in the days of phil simms, jim mcmahon, john elway, bernie kosar, boomer eisason, dan marino, warren moon and joe montana)
or am i looking for hidden meanings where they dont exist?
it`s probably a brand of american bog roll or something.

ah, the old monty python / american college student / benny hill thing.
a mighty meeting of minds indeed.
michael moore would have us believe something different but the subtle reference to the d.d.m. classic rebecca had me believing that i shouldn`t believe all that `90% of americans think london is the capital of alderon` thing.
pleased to meet you o` mighty one who dwells in the land of the midnight sun.

Wikewise, I'm suwe. I wook fowward to convewsing wiff you on a non-Fwank-Wawwen-wewated ffwead, i.e. one whewe I wiww wack this infuwiating wisp. It's difficuwt to wive up to the weputation of a wugged Wiking when one sounds wike Ewmew Fudd.

I have an original, glossy version of that picture (minus the text) on the wall of my garage.
Sent to me by a mate who shares my interest in 80s action TV.

Hasselhoff would probably reply, "It's not the thighs that matters..." ;)

80s action tv is all well and good, but you can't beat a bit of 'Renagade'. Quality viewing.

Renegade? Some guy with an overgrown mullet and no sleeves!
Airwolf, Knightrider and The A-Team were far superior. Renegade is just a Streethawk wannabe.

I resent that Streethawk jibe! Next thing you'll be telling me 'Highlander: The Series' wasn't any good!

Highlander:The Series was OK but nothing more. I actually thought of Highlander when you mentioned Renegade. They were both on tv approx 8 years ago along with nash bridges and they can't live up to the classics mentioned above.
