What are your thoughts, he is certainly being kept active
doesnt take to many so i would assume its not taking to much out of him at this early stage, however he is yet to mature for a guy so big at only 18 and almost coasts and goes through the motions at times how will this affect his concentration later in his career when it counts and what if any of that is to do with how active he is i.e. the physical toll on his body with I can only assume short rest periods between fights.

I must say that Peter seems to know how to get a fighter to use his physical atributes to his advantage so the technical /skill side of training must be sound but the video footage of fitness/conditioning training on you tube ect seems to be a case of hard graft but no real specific focus on any area.

Obviously this is an opinion based on no inside knowledge of a camp and there is an argument for its working so why change it but I think this lad has a great deal of talent and would be a shame for it not to fully show

He is being kept active to learn the game which is good as for the physical toll it is too much training rather than this kind of fighting which could damage him physically. As i have said before someone of this size will mature late and overdoing the training especially roadwork and weights on an immature body is a bad idea. He does however look like a genuine prospect and hits hard already which is very encouraging.

I think it's great that he's being kept so busy. I reckon another 4-6 fights and he'll be ready to fight McDermott for the english title. Just needs more rounds under his belt; perhaps an eight rounder against a tough journeyman like Paul Butlin or Mickey Steeds would stand him in good stead.

Boxing really starts taking its toll when a lad is getting frequently beaten up and/or participating in 'wars'. Right now that isn't the case with Hughie. I think he is being brought along fine.

its just slightly different stresses I think mate. its more impact-based in League, more push/shove/lifting/wrestling in Union.

The rugby analogy is a fair one but the burnout/dropout rate amongst young rugby players owing to injury is very high.

That is a very impressive win sets himself up for a big step up on Haye v Fury bill.
