Wishaw’s Chris Steel suffered his first loss of his career on December 20th, 2011 against former sparring partner Malta's Daniel Micallef.

Steel was expected to win the fight and move onto better things, but things didn't turn out as planned and for Chris it was a life-changing experience.

18 months ago Steel injured the ligaments in his right hand during a sparring session and was told to take six months off by doctors at Wishaw General Hospital. But the inexperienced and eager Steel chose the wrong option and took the fight at just two weeks’ notice.

You would have to fight 48 times in a year for that, against many good prospect, not get injured or cut or stopped in that time, and be willing to dodge the taxman.
To fight 48 times in a year would be a hell of an achievement

And I'm sure there are some very experienced fellows who are high level and get in with anyone who do not get paid that who post on here (and their trainers, Frank ) I'd like to hear the story in the the world we all live in rather than cloud cuckoo land.

Good on him for making a comeback. Hes still young.

He should try for a rematch with micallef.

You'd "only" need to fight half of that to make more than the average wage.
