This fight was supposed to be next Thursday, but Richard Towers is not permitted to enter Australia because of past legal problems.
Browne says he's willing to fight him in the UK, so it may be rescheduled.

A bit of thought and a couple of episodes of nothing to declare would have told them that Towers might have had problems getting into Australia, so how did they only find out 5 days before?

It's quite nice that we have got through 4 replies on a Richard Towers thread where nobody has called him a 'big boofhead.'

Yeh there seems to be a little cult following for Towers based on I don't know what, maybe cos he's massive and called Towers and went to prison once. Interesting back story, shame about him as a fighter though!! Can't remember what fight they showed of him on SKy, but it was an embarassingly bad affair.

Unbelieveable they should have found this out the first time the fight was on. Towers is not very good and getting old he needs to fight or he will forget waht little ring craft he had.

The fight against the Frenchman Gregory Tony. Pretty shambolic he was on the verge of being stopped.

The British government stopped transportation in the 1840s. People in England were getting themselves locked up to get here.

Like Expe said, how the hell has it taken this long for someone to realise that Towers might have trouble getting into Australia based on the fact that he served 10 odd years or whatever it was! Are the people who run these promotional companies idiots because at times it seems like it.

It wasnt just a little while, it was like 10 years or something he was inside for a violent robbery where someone was tortured if I remember correctly! It's common sense that a country with one of the strictest immigration laws in the world is unlikely to let you in their country if you've committed a serious offence for which you served serious prison time and there was violence involved.

The potential for visa issues never crossed their minds despite his pretty well-known past? Fucking boofhead promoters
