A deal was yesterday thrashed out with Sky TV to screen the grudge bout.

Four-time world champion Froch has been forced into a showdown with domestic rival Groves earlier than he would have liked

I can. Sky were planting the seed during the Kessler build up. It will sell really well at the gate.

Really? I would have had it down as The O2. Groves can sell down there.

Just what I'm hearing at this stage mate, I assume they need a big indoor arena in England - and perhaps the 02 is booked already for the date in mind.

02 is a better venue, but the MEN is ok so long as you buy a pair of wellies and a gas mask for using the toilets to wade through the p*ss and cigarette smoke.

I'm sure we'll find out one way or the other this week.

The O2 is great if your sober and drive there. The men is great if you like getting the train, pissing in sinks, watching a good few fights outside the ring and don't need a crap as all the coke heads are in the cubicles. I prefer the men...

Bloody hell Mickey had to do a double take there - thought you'd put I prefer men .........

The MEN is lethal when it's been raining, too.

MEN would qualify as a neutral venue so maybe that's why it's been muted?

that made me smile :P :P great fight might be a bit early for groves but i think groves has a decent shot if he boxes more , i thought froch looked like he has got a bit slower vs kessler and he took a lot of shots .

I just think Groves has so little chance of winning this. If Froch is better than 2/5 or so I might pile on.

Groves can definitely do this.

From a selfish view I hope it's at the O2 since I'm from Bournemouth-way, but I'm going to Haye v Fury at the MCR so it's still good.

And the O2 bogs were just as bad for Froch v Kessler, had to wait an age to have a piss - rather than the bloke in the corner just pissing up the wall - while stood in a fornicating ashtray with pure carbon monoxide filling my lungs. Dirty stinking bastards.

Mark I thought people were quite well behaved at Froch Kessler, certainly better than in Sheffield for Brook v Hatton, like animals them Northerners.

On topic, I think Groves has a chance against Froch. I think a lot of it comes down to his mental toughness - the crowd will be massively in favour of Froch and Groves will know that Froch has faced far better opposition. It's on the Dark Lord to get his head right.

I think Groves has a far better chance than people are giving him! His boxing over the last couple of fights has tightened up immeasurably I think and he's got decent speed and he can punch. He could possibly outbox Froch although saying that I think Froch's boxing ability is pretty underrated at times. Some people seem to have him down as purely a brawler which isnt the case. The only worry id have for Groves in this fight is his chin holding up. His chin isnt as bad as some people make it out to be but it's not rock solid either and that's not good against a guy like Froch which a granite chin and heavy hands. You only have to look at the Bute fight to see that. Another guy with a questionable chin. I would of preferred to see Groves against Stieglitz or Abraham first but maybe Booth doesnt fancy Groves chances against those guys either and he would rather lose against Froch for good money vs lose against the other two for relative peanuts.

In London the crowd would be very pro Groves. He shifted a lot of tickets for the DeGale fight and I'm sure would do a lot more for this. Not sure if they would travel north though. They are a bit weird like that the southerners.
