Has anyone got any details on Audleys claim his offer of helping the 2004 Olympic Boxing team was snubbed?

If your a fan of his or not, he's and smart articulate guy who won Gold at the last Olyimpics. You would have thourght they would have jumped at his offer of help.

Or is there more to this than it appears?

Audley Harrison has returned to America saying his offer to help the British amateur boxing team has been spurned.
The WBF heavyweight champion, a Sydney Olympic champion, had been set to change his training schedule to assist hopefuls in their Athens qualification.

But he headed back to Las Vegas instead after a meeting with a British team director was unsuccessful, he said.

"I was really looking forward to giving the boys my knowledge of the qualifying experience," Harrison said.

Harrison sets May date
Final qualification for the 2004 Olympics will be finished by the time the 2000 super heavyweight gold medallist comes back to Britain for his next fight on 8 May.

But Harrison said he would be available to help selected British boxers then.

"My door is still open for anyone who qualifies for the Olympic Games," he said.

"In the end, it's about the boys and I know I can offer invaluable information and advice prior to and during their Olympic training sessions that will help secure our chances of winning another medal."

He should be concentrating on finding his next opponent.

WHY THE DELAY? THEY SAID THE OPPONENT WAS TO BE ANNOUNCED LAST WEEK!

He said when the 4 nations were on, that the opponent would be announced within the next week and if not then definately the week after. Translated that means itll be a fortnight.
