Your choice of Super Six Tournament:

Okay we all know what happened, but for the benefit of the guys that don't know, please forgive me for this brief back story.
Theoretically, The Super Six World Boxing Classic was a boxing tournament which ran from 2009 to 2011. It's purpose was to bring the six best boxers of a weight division (in this case The Super Middleweights) together to fight each other over the course of 26 months.
So here's the question for all of you, and this is sure to spark up some debate:
You are the Promoter of The Super Six, here are the three questions for you:
1. Which weight division do you choose?
2. From which era will you choose from?
3. And finally, how are the 6 guys from that weight division and time that you would want to bring include?
The only 2 rules are:
1. Be realistic with your selections, only include a fighter in you weight division if he has actually fought there.
2. When you delcare your 2 year age-range, you will get the fighters as they were during that time - you're not always guaranteed to get them at their primes, then.

For me, I would probably go back 1982-84 and pick the Featherweight Division.
And the 6 I would include are:
Salvador Sanchez
Wilfredo Gomez
Azumah Nelson
Eusebio Pedroza
Juan LaPorte
Barry McGuigan
For me, that would be very entertaining.

Mid 1980s at 154
Mike McCallum
Thomas Hearns
Donald Curry
Julian Jackson
John Mugabi
Ray Leonard (he did fight Kevin Howard in 1984...Ray is a stretch but not too much)

That's quite a list, I didn't think many people would have picked the Light Middleweight Division, but upon looking at your fighter selections, I can certainly see why.

My first thoughts were to go with the feathers that you went for…
The mid-80s lightweights with Rosario, Paul, Ramirez, Bramble, Camacho… were a very competitive bunch.
Before Chavez and Whittaker came through.

Any thoughts on who would be the best six fighters from the Heavyweight Division and from what era?

How about 1990-1991
Evander Holyfield
Riddick Bowe
Lennox Lewis
Mike Tyson
George Foreman
Ray Mercer
The 6th was a bit of a stretch, but Ray seemed the most worthy fighter of the era to close out the list.

The early 90s is a good call, Mr Gil.
I was thinking of throwing in the black Heavyweights from the early 1900s, but I couldn't decide on the time-frame.
I mean the likes of:
Jack Johnson
Sam Langford
Joe Jeanette
Young Peter Jackson
Sam McVey
Harry Wills (I really wanted to throw him in there and that's aprt of the reason why it was so diffuclt to nail down a time).

I'd go with Moorer.

I almost did, but I wasn't sure when his Heavyweight career began. If he was a Heavyweight by then, yeah I'd include him over Mercer as well.

That Mid 70's Heavyweight one is almost the one I went with as well.

You've only named five, who would be your sixth?

There's afew other Super Six tourneys that I would have found interesting (although admittedly I am reducing the pedigree level here)
The
Heavyweight Division between the years
2003-05:
Chris Byrd (as IBF Champ)
John Ruiz (as WBA Champ)
Vitali Klitchsko (as WBC Champ)
Lamon Brewster (as WBO Champ)
Corrie Sanders
David Tua
(I was going to throwe in Hasim Rahman - but I couldn't bring myself too)

I always thought Rahman vs Lamon Brewster would've been pretty interesting though.

Yeah definitely. We'd definitely find out if Broner is the real deal or not against that lineup, and we'd finally get Pac-Mayweather......in all likelihood.

Thik that you've misinterpreted this, only realistic Super Six tourneys should be mentioned.

Hence why I said (all time) if it were possible. I don't know if you noticed but I posted my other list right above this one. Not sure if you noticed it. It's already posted and I'm not editing it so if you have a problem with it then deal with it thank you
