I completely agree. I think part of that might be the amount of time he's spent around Haye and Booth aswell though.

I don't like him.
I hope Froch sparks him early.

watched sky sports new earlier and groves and froch was talkin about up coming fight and groves just come across as smug, I liked both degale and groves then disliked degale after build up of his fight with groves now its in reverse id rather degale now

DeGale seems like a more naturally likable person than Groves in my opinion.

I've met both Degale & Groves and they are both really top blokes, really easy to chat to and are genuine outside of the ring. The bravado and cockyness is all part of it, if it helps drum up more interest then it's all good.
As mentioned earlier in this thread, I agree that the attitude has rubbed off from Booth & Haye

Me too, maybe I haven't seen these interviews but he always comes across as a decent bloke to me. Out of the two I find Froch to be quite cocky.

He had to live in DeGales shadow for long enough. He's just enjoying his bit of limelight, don't see any harm in it.

I'm not a Groves fan. I actually prefer Degale and I am also in the minority that feel Degale won that fight.. I also like Froch more than Groves but I think Groves will win and will look good doing it..

He's took on booths persona with a mixture if Hayes mannerisms its cringe worthy stuff!!
I didn't like the flack degale came under once they were matched as groves was making muggy videos calling him & smith out basically a puppet trying to talk & promote a rivalry. I don't detest any fighter showing arrogance in there belief but groves does come across a melt.
I hope he does jump in with the big boys now he will get a rude awakening. Kenny Anderson knocked him down a peg but he's well over it now.
Groves is a one punch knock out artist & does have a punchers chance v froch with his speed aswell he isn't really credited for it imo

I think he's ok he is 19-0 has grown in confidence with each fight.
For someone who spends that much time in South London and is 25 he isnt that cocky there are alot worse.
He also probably feels a bit of pressure to be more of a character for the media as he gets involved in bigger fights.
He can see those around him doing that and its worked for them.
He is young and hungry that can come across as being full of yourself .
This is by far the most attention he will get might be slightly daunted by it which can make you over cook the bravado a bit.
Its a good job Carls a great fighter because frankly in interviews I find him flat says repetitive party line speil.
Give the Saint a break he has got his hands full with this fight as it is.
I also hope the hype machine does'nt go into overdrive this is a good fight that could be great.

I thought he was like that all along its just that James took it to a new level, badly, and made George look good by looking so bad himself. Sat near him (and Spud) after his fight in Huddersfield though and he seemed a good bloke. Booth trains them in hype, and to be fair, it's paid off.

I agree he's taken on some of both Booth and Haye's personality but that's normal among people who are close and especially if you're young and impressionable. He even says the same words/lines as Haye but I still think he's likeable.
Hoping he's up to the task and can at least push Froch.

Been thinking this for while
its actually embarrassing IMO, he seemed a decent likeable lad now he comes across as a arrogant tit.

Give Grovesy a break.
The poor lad has grown up ginger, which is a tough ask at the best of times. In addition he has to be a shout for the worst tattoo work ever performed on man or beast.
If we throw into the mix the very real possibility of him being balder than Jordan`s snatch by the time he hits 30, he could be forgiven for being a bitter and twisted individual.
The fact that he comes across as a decent enough lad, with a solid dose of confidence is testemant to his character. I hope he gives a good account of himself against Froch. He has the power and the speed, but I`m not sold on his chin or his stamina. If he comes to fight, he will get stopped, but if he comes to box and move, he may have a chance.

I'm a fan of both Froch and Groves, but hope that Froch wins. Would hate to see him ruin his legacy by losing to Groves. Whereas Groves can lose in a good manner and then come again.

You are not in the minority. The vast majority of press row had Degale ahead.
As for Grove's attitude, he has to put on a media persona in order to sell the fight. He is a genuinely polite and well mannered guy outside of the ring.

It's true, he's young and obviously looks up to Haye and Booth, so in that way he's the same as most kids that age - and yes, he does actually come over as a really decent lad when the pressure is off.
If anyone is an arrogant twat, let's be honest, it's Carl Froch. He rarely gives anyone credit, and to get on his high horse over a young contender like Groves sparring Kessler is childish in the extreme.
That said, I've always been a fan of Froch, and never saw any problem with his calling out Joe when he was an up and comer....which used to annoy the hell out of most people.
I think Carl is a really decent sort behind the hype as well....
