i've seen a couple of his fights and i'm really impressed with him , he's a former ABA winner so he not come from nowhere and he's with mrwarren but he looks like the best novice i've seen in a long time . anyone else have any thoughts on him ?

He moves well and has good punch variety; he is very young and if he trains hard and keeps his head straight he'll do well; h's got a very 'american' way of boxing.

yeah he seems to have that coolness that only yanks have

He has an area title shot at the copper box too, hopefully he doesn't become inactive like a lot of FW's prospects and fighters in general.

He's not been pushed hard yet but he rolls under punches well and doubles his left hook, he's got a good fighting rhythm and seems to enjoy boxing; who's his trainer, Jason Rowland?

i didn't know roland was a trainer now , i see him fight alan temple at crystal palce

Jason was a good boxer, watched him box a few times, a very good amateur as well (though Shaun Gray would have beaten him IMO), so was Temple - double ABA champ and southpaw, think he does some training as well though not sure if it's amateur.

Does look to have all the tools to make a good shot at the British title

Yer like him a lot ! As someone said recently on tv, he has a mayweather style defense and a Mexican style attack ! Seems a really nice bloke with loads of character, he should do well

i sparred with temple about the time of the 92 olympics at crystal palace ,he was with the england team and a couple of us was sent there to spar , temple jabbed my head off he seemed to be much taller than me but i just checked it and he was only an inch taller but it felt like i was always out of range .

He beat some very good lads, he was on fire for about 3 seasons; if you were boxing at that level you ought to be pleased with yourself, there's a lot of craft involved. I thought Temple'd do well professionally but he didn't seem to get the breaks; was Peter Richardson there as well? he was another very good boxer from the North East, he beat some marvelous boxers and only Adrian Stone seemed to beat him convincingly (as an amateur).

i thought he would do better as a pro ,when i sparred with him i was sparring with a couple of national champions at my club one was wayne alexander and yet temple was much harder to get near and wayne went on to be a much better pro.

I can imagine Wayne weren't that bothered if someone got close to him as he had the big punches to force them back/knock them out though it wasn't until he was 16/17 that he really got his strength up (Patsy Gray bashed him in the semi finals in 87). Alan seemed to be really well schooled and fit. Did you box in the schoolboys/juniors steve?

no i boxed as a kid then started again at 21 for a couple of years i had 12 fights lost 1 . i got picked for london but injured my cruiate ligament in my knee and had to stop .to be honest i was getting fed up of the livestyle all my mates were out on the piss pulling and i was training so it wasn't too heart breaking doing my knee .
you're right about wayne he never really got his power till he went to the lynn club at about 18/19 . i see wayne all the time he lives around the corner from me .

Has he changed a lot then Mickey? What's happened, is he loaded and it's gone to his head? Do you know how Peter Richardson and Darren Mcarrick are getting on? They were really good boxers and always came across as sound. How you doing as well, no more kids on the way? You back into training?

Don't know about loaded but comes across right tosser thinks he s better than every fornicator else and no more kids mate Iv got 5 kids 3 horse a dog no more room for anymore ha no more come backs ere mate I was helpin Chris burton but he s got to many work commitment so he's decided to call it a day
