liam walsh defends his commonwealth super featherweight title against joe murray on the ryder v saunders card. strange fight with murray only just signing to fw. i think walsh wins wide points not been impressed at all by murray

Im surprised Walsh is moving back down to SFW,Commonwealth is a good title mind you so maybe he got an offer he couldnt refuse

Be interested to hear from those who favour Murray in this one. I can't see past a Walsh win; looks like Murray is being thrown to the wolves.

I think Walsh is one of the most underrated fighters in the country, sensible of him to stay at S/F instead of being involved in the domestic circle he can work his way up the WBO rankings

I agree,ive not been too impressed yet with Murray,the boy could obviously box a bit and a lot of his pals in the know seem to see something in the gym that he,s not been able to do in the ring really yet,but hey,he,s still unbeaten,got a new promoter and now a title shot,i wish he would stop trying to fight like his brother John and box to his own advantages,it might put people off but if he wants to make it at title level then thats what he,s gonna have to do IMO


Walsh stoppage IMO

Murray is better off taking this tough fight and losing rather than continuing to do nothing.

I agree, he never really got Credit for beating Harrison the way he should have. He is improving with each fight.

Expected big things of Joe when he turned pro, but he just seems to have faded out. Walsh wins quite easy for me.

Sparred and fought Liam as an amateur and boxed joe as a pro.

This One won't go the distance, Walsh stoppage.

Hits harder than most People realise, will walk through murrays shots which aren't hard at all!

I'm with Danny on that result. I still rate Walsh as one of the best I went in with. Very sharp, very accurate.

Walsh will also be naturally the much bigger man; Murray was as low as 127lbs in March. I reckon he could easily still do featherweight. Where as Walsh recently fought at lightweight.

Partly injuries, had to pull out of the Burns fight because of a car crash.

Murray came across as being very content in the Boxing Monthly interview; maybe a bit too content. He's got a nice life already by the sounds of it and he didn't seem to be itching for big chance; he's still a good boxer and has good moves but this would be a better bout if they both had a warm up first.

murray has boxed twice since april done 16 rounds why wud he need a warm up fight its about time he stepped up a level. the fight is also for a wbo inter title i believe from joes fb
