Just watching the Manchester city game on this new BT and just wondered if it will be showing any boxing anytime soon would a promoter be willing to sign with them and give Eddie Hearn and sky sports a challenge??

A mate of mine was telling me earlier you were getting free period but didnt know if it was this weekend or first weekend that season starts,must be this weekend :??

Yer it must be this weekend mate hopefully it lasts abit longer I don't fancy laying another £10 extra a month

It is only for today the free period tomorrow it is £12 a month with a £15 start charge.

Don't think I will be paying for it then my sky bill is expensive enough cant believe they keep adding these new channels and adding a monthly rate

Yep I work at Broadcast Centre where this is aired from: I don't believe you can get it on Virgin's TiVo box, it's at a cost on Sky but free if you take up BT internet. As far as I know they don't have any scope in the boxing market just yet. Although for me, they'd have to have a hell of a lot more than the 38 Prem games, Heineken Cup and women's tennis before I'd even think of taking up ANOTHER subscription. Sky offers much more.

Oh I agree! The production quality is far better and they've already got better content than ESPN

BT are a bunch of idiots.

I tried to order infinity broadband only 4 weeks ago.

1. Stayed in all day - never turned up
2. Re-arranged different day
3. Engineer turned up with no cable, no clips, no ladders - nothing.
4. Said the 20-year old socket in the hallway didnt have power near it for router, so a revisit required to move socket.
5. BT told me it was a further £125.00 to move socket to living room (despite the phone line going straight past the living room window and just needed trimming back.
6. Cancelled order (took almost an hour on phone to India)
7. Received another call from India to tell me engineer was coming to move socket - told them NO
8. A week later received Email that "My bill was due" and included socket move, Total £150+
9. Again, hour spent passed around India explaining they never fitted it
10. Received bill reminder

Absolutely the biggest bunch of jokers on the face of the planet.

I had similar India dealings with my bill in the past, to the point where they I realised the lady I was speaking to didn't understand my problem or even what I was saying so I just accepted the extra £4 on my bill every month to save me further hassle

I have to say though that BT technical support for my broadband has been superb in the past.

On the subject at hand, I read that BT have entered the sports market as pretty much a loss leader. With the current Prem football package they have bought they stand to lose around £250 - £300 million, but they have done this to prevent losing broadband and phone customers to Sky, which they estimate would have cost them up to £700 million in losses.

So basically, they've launched a Free sports channel for current Broadband customers to not lose that business and make a much smaller loss. So, with this in mind, I don't see them increasing their spend much on other sports unless they get a lot of subscribers who are not currently Broadband customers. So I doubt any boxing will land here.

Anyone who has BT Broadband gets it for free

I let my ESPN subscription run last month out and plan on picking up BT Sport in December just before the Silva v Weidman rematch. I can manage without the other UFC events until then although St Pierre v Hendricks is a bit tasty.

I'll miss Friday Night Fights in the meantime I must admit. Can't see BT Sport showing any other boxing though.

Are you sure? BT haven't even struck any deal whatsoever with Virgin so at the moment there's no way of Virgin customers receiving BT Sport without changing their ISP/TV services to BT. The idea of BT suddenly striking a deal with Virgin which will mean the Virgin viewers get it free is extremely unlikely IMO. Virgin's fibre broadband is BT Infinity's biggest rival so they're not gonna cut Virgin any sort of slack with their TV channel.

its all bullshit,im sick to death of it all. i pay 95 with virgin and watched espn for the boxing,ufc and footy,now espn has gone sky have threw all eggs in one basket with eddie hearn and now we are seeing more ppv withd froch haye and whoever else thay can milk us for. im seriously thinking of cancelling it all,why pay close to £100 for somethin i cant watch? sky and virgin are a bunch of assholes

Yeah XL and VIP customers get BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN all in HD and at no extra cost. Makes the XL package with Virgin better value then ever. 50 HD channels and counting. More channels to launch in September too.
